We are looking for an enthusiastic, Placement Student - Analysis Lead Design and Validation to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Power Systems Business Segment in Daventry. During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential ! This role is available to candidates who qualify for a placement year and will commence 1 July 2025.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Given the opportunity to be responsible for creating design solutions to real engineering problems on new and existing products as well as the opportunity to assess and verify failure modes using simulation tools.
  • Utilizing your passion for design engineering you will be required to create CAD models and drawings to design specifications using CREO CAD software. Training in these tools and processes will be provided.
  • Working alongside other designers and development engineers to ensure current and new products have good reliability by carrying out hand calculations, finite element stress analysis, multi body simulation and component life prediction using in house code and commercial software.
  • Utilizing engineering tools such as Virtual Reality to develop your designs, whilst also applying engineering theory and manufacturing knowledge to deliver designs that are.
  • Part of a global team, working collaboratively with others through across out product range and lifecycle.
  • Provide clear direction to cross-functional stakeholders, through various presentation methods and document analysis work and procedures as Cummins Technical Reports.

QUALIFICATIONS

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • We are looking for a wide range of applicants studying towards a STEM degree.
  • Methodical problem-solving mindset with strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a desire to learn and develop.
  • Experience with CAE tools covering design and simulation is preferred beneficial although not essential.
