DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Operations Excellence Specialist to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Cummins Inc. facility in York, SC.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Guiding and Coaching : You'll support small plants/sites in adopting Operations Excellence, helping them progress towards World Class Manufacturing under the Cummins Operating System (COS).
- Driving Improvement : By leading improvement initiatives, you'll enhance the overall effectiveness of various functions, aligning them with end-to-end value stream performance goals.
- Consulting and Supporting : You'll consult on processes, capabilities, systems, and data, ensuring they meet performance objectives and improve customer outcomes.
- Utilizing Continuous Improvement Tools : Applying your knowledge of Operations Excellence principles, you'll use continuous improvement tools to develop manufacturing standards and working methods.
- Influencing Stakeholders : You'll lead communications with key stakeholders, business leaders, and functional members, maintaining relationships and coaching them towards success.
- Executing Strategy : By executing the Corporate Operations Excellence Strategy, you'll help achieve plant maturity goals in collaboration with business leaders and end-to-end process owners.
- Identifying Growth Opportunities : Using your business knowledge, you'll identify growth opportunities within the plant functions to improve customer outcomes.
- Leading Cross-Functional Projects : You'll lead and coach on complex manufacturing issues, providing solutions across the Cummins network and contributing to significant, measurable improvements.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:
College, university or equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience required.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
Intermediate level of relevant work experience, including manufacturing or manufacturing plant experience, team leadership experience, preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS
Additional Information:
- A minimum 3-5 years of previous training and supervisory experience is preferred.
- Previous experience with creating training strategies is a plus.
- Lead a team of 10 trainers across three shifts.
- Oversee and manage the plant training matrix.
- Collaborate with the operations team to develop comprehensive training material.
- Establish and maintain recruitment channels with local colleges and high schools.
