DESCRIPTION

Job Summary:

The On-Site Service Technician - Level III is responsible for completing diagnostics, repairs, and rebuilds on engine products independently in a service workshop setting. The role also involves coaching and developing less experienced technicians, providing technical guidance, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Diagnostics and Repairs:

  • Perform complex diagnostics and repairs on engine products using documented procedures and policies.
  • Troubleshoot customer complaints, develop and execute repair plans, and validate repairs by duplicating the complaint to ensure resolution.
  • Utilize electronic service tools and software for diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems, including engine systems interactions.

Preventative Maintenance:

  • Conduct preventative maintenance based on assessments of engine and component conditions to prevent future failures.

Service Documentation:

  • Complete and maintain accurate service documentation, including work completed documents, time sheets, warranty claims, and quality forms.
  • Ensure all relevant technical, customer, and equipment information is accurately captured and documented in the service management system.

Coaching and Development:

  • Coach and develop junior technicians and apprentices by transferring knowledge, providing work direction, and reviewing repair plans and parts lists.
  • Encourage and ensure adherence to all Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures, and legislation.

Workplace Management:

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools are in proper working order.
  • Follow and enforce HSE guidelines, reporting any issues or incidents to supervisors.

Electronic Service Tool Application:

  • Identify and utilize the appropriate electronic tools for diagnostics and repairs, interpreting results to determine necessary steps for service resolution.
  • Product Repair and Maintenance:
  • Ability to repair and maintain mechanical/electrical products following industry guidelines, using required tools within standard repair time.
  • Proficiency in disassembling and assembling engines or power generators, ensuring a clean and organized environment.
  • Service Documentation:
  • Accurately document all service activities, ensuring seamless transitions and accurate responses to service tickets.
  • Technical Escalation:
  • Escalate complex technical issues to higher-level expertise when necessary, ensuring timely resolution and accurate documentation.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

  • Vocational diploma from a relevant technical institution is preferred.
  • Apprentice-trained Engine Technician is highly desirable.
  • Locally valid driving permit is preferred.
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export.

Experience:

  • Advanced level knowledge of engine products and significant experience in performing diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance.
  • Experience in providing technical advice and coaching to junior technicians is preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS

Job Description

  • Hands On Experience on Engine/ Aftertreatment system on Vehicle level analysis BSIV and BSVI,
  • Trouble shooting on Vehicle & Engine,
  • Basic knowledge of electronic service tool like Insite on Engine & ATS
  • Organize & Impart Trainings to OEMs and CCC Service Centre's for ensuring trouble free operation of Product.
  • Ability to strip down & rebuild turbocharger/Dosing systems/Fuel system and analyze the failure.
  • Ability to trouble shoot on vehicle/Engine/Genset/Construction Equipment for Engine related issues.
  • Handling Warranty cases and concluding warranty disposition.
  • Support Infant care.
  • Enhancing capability of CTT ASC on customers support by Technical/Service support/Parts Availability.
  • Conduct service center audit and implement corrective actions required.
  • Supporting to CCC s for aftermarket service support.
  • To ensure failed failure parts to dispatch plant for analysis.
  • Maintain service data base for the complete key activities of service and support data for release monthly report.
