DESCRIPTION

With limited supervision, provides system operational support ensuring the effectiveness, efficiency, accuracy, and availability of IT resources and systems for end users with opportunities for coaching and developing less experienced IT Support Associates. Must work collaboratively with others.

Performs IT production support for assigned area(s) according to documented processes.

Creates and maintains process documentation and standards.

Diagnoses and problem solves issues with IT hardware or software components with limited direction. Requires the ability to install, configure, or disposition IT hardware and/or application issues.

Troubleshoots assigned issues per department standards to resolution.

Uses Incident Management system to manage reported issues or requests submitted by end users and log any actions or support provided. Has reporting responsibility within the system.

Trains less experienced associates on IT support processes and tools.

Assists with additional IT responsibilities as assigned.

Encourages root cause analysis using the formal problem solving approach for recurring issues.

Key Responsibilities:

Leads team of technicians in the design, development, and support of software products; writes documents and code; tests software products using user knowledge of at least one high language currently used on projects. Actively mentors and trains other technicians to executes software test procedures using open and closed loop simulators, desktop simulators, machine virtualization and other test platforms as required; prepares test reports with minimal supervision. Participates in cross-functional reviews; collects and tabulates metrics; gathers data using Six Sigma tools; schedules tracking systems and other process improvement tools. Prepares and documents test environment prior to testing; uses software testing tools and develops test software for use in automated test activities; debugs, compiles/builds errors to the source code. Downloads software to the target platform and performs validation procedures; uses configuration management systems to update and maintain product databases; uses problem tracking systems to update and maintain problem database. Takes corrective actions based on problem reports and change requests as needed to ensure high-quality software products. Works with and trains apprentices and technicians. Interfaces with customers, suppliers, engineers, and other functions. Coordinates programs including planning, scheduling, ordering, and tracking. Participates in the maintenance of quality procedures. Leads and participates in improvement projects. Develops and gives presentations to customers and suppliers. Participates in self- and team-audits and associated corrective action. Performs other duties as required.

Product Software Design and Construction - Constructs product software using industry best practices and robust software engineering principles; verifies software updates to ensure quality products.

Collaborates - Building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.

Communicates effectively - Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.

Customer focus - Building strong customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

High school diploma, certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience in an appropriate STEM field is required.

Regionally applicable certification or two year Associates Degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field of study may be required.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.

Department of Labor Certification OR four year experience/education requirement accomplished through either Bachelors degree in related field OR associates degree in related field and at least two years of relevant experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

Core Responsibilities:

  • 3rd Shift IT support Onsite Role
  • Develop .NET, Python based applications to support Heavy duty Machining (HDM) plant.
  • Support legacy Oracle SQL, .NET based systems on Current product lines by reviewing code and debugging logs in the event of issues.
  • Support new product lines by performing CMES application upgrades, resolving printer and scanner issues.
  • Manage IT crib and participate or lead I4.0 projects for Cummins Engine Business.

Experience, Education:

  • Strong database programming skills (Oracle SQL/ MS SQL)
  • Solid understanding of Object oriented programming and experience with .NET, Python Frameworks.
  • Bachelor of Engineering in Software/ IT or Associates Degree from an accredited college with 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Key Attributes: Strong Communication skills, Passion for technology and problem solving

Experience Preferences:

  • Experience supporting a manufacturing plant
  • Experience with Ignition 8.1 platform
  • Hands on experience with Zebra printers (ZT510, ZT610) and scanners (DS3608)
