DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Mechanical Maintenance - Level III to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Cummins Inc. facility in Plainfield, IN.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
  • Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training, or on-the-job experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Information

• Complete tasks as required by following industry accepted policies and practices for a

general maintenance support team.

• Have the knowledge and ability to operate, troubleshoot, order replacement parts for,

perform scheduled preventative maintenance on and make needed repairs to all

company equipment, machines, and systems.

• Have personal knowledge of and demonstrate the ability to use, operate, and maintain

multiple types of powered tools and equipment. Be responsible for, and have the ability

to maintain and use a company provided set of general maintenance tools.

• Be able to work within a team structured environment and still perform solo as needed

with minimal direct supervision.

• Perform various maintenance responsibilities, with the ability to stop and start multiple

tasks when necessary to assure priorities get immediate response.

• Exercise judgment and initiative in planning ahead, anticipating problems and

completing job assignments.

• Maintain an open and honest relationship with team members and management.

Support the efforts of the team and ultimately the business.

• Manage own time for task completion. Be in work area on time and exemplify good work

habits and commitment to all jobs well done.

• Utilize appropriate safety equipment, personal protective equipment, and assure all

applied safety practices are followed. Be conscious of the entire facility and equipment

and demonstrate the ability to not only recognize, but make recommendations for

correcting any potential safety hazards.

• Good housekeeping practices and habits are expected. This includes the maintenance

department and any site throughout the facility that the member works in. The

expectation is to leave any area at least as tidy as you found it.

• Requires the interpersonal skills to communicate with all levels. This includes all

manufacturing and office personnel, including senior management.

• Must possess a support services approach and understand the importance of supporting

the needs of all customers, whether external or internal. Have an "everyone is my

customer" attitude, at all times.

• Heavy lifting at times up to forty (40) pounds.

• May perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems and PLC controls

• Skilled at MIG welding

• Machine repair and preventative maintenance

• Troubleshooting

• Interpret and follow service manuals

• Read blueprints and schematics

• High School Diploma or GED

• Two (2) or more years Production Maintenance experience; Three (3) or more years

preferred

• One (1) or more years in a manufacturing environment; Three (3) or more years in a

heavy duty manufacturing environment preferred.

• The Plainfield facility has the right to deem a person qualified for a position if that person

has had one or more years of experience in the position or similar position.

  • TRAINING WILL BE ON 1ST SHIFT 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM. THIS IS A 2ND SHIFT POSITIION HOURS ARE 4:00 PM TO 2:30 AM.
