We are looking for a talented Manufacturing Engineer - Senior to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Components Business Segment in Morganton, NC.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

• Leads the planning, designing, purchasing, and implementation of changes to the manufacturing equipment and systems while leading and co-leading teams.
• Leads the work for specific projects to create and implement all aspects of a manufacturing processes to ensure safety requirements, manufacturing goals, business goals, and product specifications are met.
• Leads by applying the knowledge or use of manufacturing principles and practices to improve manufacturing equipment and processes.
• Impacts the work by utilizing continuous improvement tools, following the Cummins standards, and leading the development of manufacturing standards and working methods.
• Leads the communications with and influences key external stakeholders, business leaders, and functional members.
• Works with internal and external resources on specific project assignments.
• Leads the advanced knowledge of manufacturing principles and practices as they are applied to Cummins.
• Maintains relationships and coaches' key stakeholders.

• Equipment/Capital Procurement - Selects manufacturing equipment which meets the Cummins manufacturing specifications and meets the project or program needs.
• Ergonomic Fundamentals - Understands ergonomic concepts by applying Cummins ergonomic standards, guidelines, controls and tools to reduce ergonomic risk to employees while at work.
• Industrial Engineering Knowledge - Integrates the pillars of industrial engineering techniques by applying a comprehensive and quantitative analysis to available data to be used as decision factors for the development or improvement of manufacturing processes to contribute to the most efficient process.
• Manufacturing Knowledge - Demonstrates the knowledge of manufacturing by correctly implementing changes in current processes, equipment, and applications to meet the function's needs and contribute towards continuous improvement.
• Optimizes work processes - Knowing the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvement.

• College, university, or equivalent degree required.
• This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

• Intermediate level of relevant work experience required.
• Experience in programming, setup, and operation of CNC equipment.
• Experience with heat treating applications.
• Experience with 2D & 3D CAD systems (SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD).
• Experience with CAM Programming Software (Mastercam).
• Experience with supporting and designing custom designed manufacturing equipment.
• Experience creating work instructions and machine setup instructions.
• Experience with creating and modifying PFMEA & Control Plan documents.
• This is an onsite role located in Morganton, North Carolina.
