Project Leadership: You will lead specific projects to create and implement manufacturing processes, ensuring they meet safety requirements, manufacturing goals, business objectives, and product specifications.

Application of Manufacturing Principles: By applying your advanced knowledge of manufacturing principles and practices, you will improve manufacturing equipment and processes, enhancing overall efficiency and effectiveness.

Continuous Improvement: Utilizing continuous improvement tools and following Cummins standards, you will lead the development of manufacturing standards and working methods, driving ongoing enhancements.

Stakeholder Communication and Influence: You will lead communications with key external stakeholders, business leaders, and functional members, influencing decisions and ensuring alignment with project goals.

Collaboration with Resources: Working with both internal and external resources, you will manage specific project assignments, ensuring successful completion and integration.

Expertise in Manufacturing: Your advanced knowledge of manufacturing principles and practices will be crucial in applying these to Cummins' processes, ensuring high standards and innovation.

Relationship Management and Coaching: You will maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and provide coaching, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.

Safety and Standards Compliance: Ensuring all manufacturing processes comply with safety requirements and Cummins standards, you will contribute to a safe and efficient manufacturing environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

Collaboration and Communication Skills: Building strong partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives, along with developing and delivering clear, multi-mode communications tailored to different audiences.

Health and Safety Expertise: Championing proactive health and safety behaviors, identifying and addressing safety issues, and contributing to an injury-free workplace by modeling and promoting a culture of safety.

Technical Proficiency in Manufacturing: Demonstrating a deep understanding of manufacturing principles, including drawing interpretation, equipment procurement, and process documentation, to design and optimize manufacturing processes that meet product specifications.

Continuous Improvement and Problem-Solving Abilities: Utilizing continuous improvement methodologies, ergonomic design principles, and systematic problem-solving techniques to enhance processes, reduce costs, and improve quality in manufacturing operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's level degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering is required. (Associates Degree with 10+ years of experience will be considered)

10+ years work history in a manufacturing production environment

Management experience is a plus

Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines.

User of appropriate MS Office applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

User of 2D and 3D modeling software (AutoCAD, Solid Works, and/or Creo).

Highly mechanically inclined.

Experience with IE, Lean practices, and line balancing.

Familiar with SPC, CapEx/AR, and project management.

Tool room experience (mill, lathe, welding, etc.) - tool making knowledge preferred

GD&T is a plus.

Understanding of PLC programming is a plus.

Knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies, Greenbelt certification is a plus.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, you are occasionally required to sit in an office environment, but are mostly required to stand and/or work for long periods of time in a manufacturing environment, wearing steel toe shoes, safety glasses and hearing protection.

You must be able to reach with your hands and arms, and carry light, ergonomic loads. You must be able to use a personal computer and various measurement tools.

Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate's qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
