DESCRIPTION

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead specific projects to create and implement manufacturing processes that meet safety, business, and product requirements.
  • Apply manufacturing principles to improve equipment and processes using continuous improvement tools and Cummins standards.
  • Guide and influence key stakeholders in internal and external teams to implement changes effectively.
  • Execute the design and development of manufacturing standards, working methods, and process documentation.
  • Contribute to the use of digital tools and simulations (such as Delmia 3D Experience and Apriso) for manufacturing optimization.
  • Support manufacturing teams and demonstrate a basic understanding of manufacturing knowledge for the application of digital tools.
  • Work closely with the IE/3D Experience team, where the 3D Experience team designs and plans the process, and execute that process at manufacturing sites.
  • Provide level 2 and level 3 support, including:
  • Supporting manufacturing sites for deployment and sustenance of new CMES systems.
  • Understanding and knowing the process very well to be able to consult on it.
  • Working with business users and suggesting workarounds in case there are any CMES issues.
  • Providing consulting to plants on downtime management.
  • Executing functional testing and trainings for CMES .

RESPONSIBILITIES

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • Licensing/Certifications: May require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Competencies:

  • Collaboration: Ability to build partnerships and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to meet shared goals.
  • Communication: Skilled in delivering clear, multi-modal communications to diverse audiences.
  • Health and Safety Fundamentals: Champions proactive health and safety behaviors to contribute to an injury-free workplace.
  • Drawing Interpretation: Expertise in integrating product design and manufacturing engineering drawings to optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Equipment/Capital Procurement: Ability to select manufacturing equipment that meets Cummins specifications and project needs.
  • Manufacturing Analysis Led Design: Experience using digital tools to model and simulate manufacturing processes and equipment, driving data-driven decisions and continuous improvements.
  • Process Documentation: Proficiency in creating clear manufacturing procedures to standardize processes across teams.
  • Tool and Fixture Design: Knowledge of selecting appropriate work-piece-holding devices for manufacturing processes to meet functional requirements.
  • Continuous Process Improvement: Expertise in process improvement and waste reduction methodologies to enhance manufacturing quality and reduce costs.
  • Ergonomics Process and Workplace Design: Ability to design and adapt workstations to ensure safety, health, and efficiency, adhering to ergonomic design guidelines.
  • Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to mentor others, use systematic analysis, and implement robust solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Workstation Design: Ability to design safe, ergonomic operator workstations that contribute to a productive work environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

Skills:

  • Digital Tools & Simulations: Expertise in using tools like Delmia 3D Experience- Apriso and Factory Flow Simulations.
  • Automation & PLC Controls: Knowledge of automation systems and PLC controls, particularly Siemens and Rockwell software (preferred).
  • Database Queries: Familiarity with Java/PL/SQL for executing database queries (preferred).

Experience:

  • 5-10+ years in manufacturing engineering or systems support, with strong knowledge of digital tools and manufacturing solutions.

Work Environment:

  • Location: IOC, Pune, with support provided to manufacturing sites in Asia and Europe.
  • Working Hours: 40 hours per week.
  • Site Support: Asia and Europe-based support for deployment and sustenance of CMES
  • Work Travel Requirements - 25%
