DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Manufacturing Engineer - Senior to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for Cummins, Inc. in Fletcher, NC.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Project Leadership : Lead specific projects to create and implement comprehensive manufacturing processes, ensuring safety, manufacturing goals, business objectives, and product specifications are met.
- Manufacturing Improvement : Apply your knowledge of manufacturing principles and practices to enhance manufacturing equipment and processes, driving efficiency and effectiveness.
- Continuous Improvement : Utilize continuous improvement tools, adhere to Cummins standards, and lead the development of manufacturing standards and working methods to optimize operations.
- Stakeholder Communication : Lead communications with and influence key external stakeholders, business leaders, and functional team members, ensuring alignment and collaboration.
- Resource Coordination : Collaborate with internal and external resources on specific project assignments, leveraging advanced knowledge of manufacturing principles and practices.
- Relationship Management : Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, providing coaching and support to ensure successful project outcomes.

RESPONSIBILITIES
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Manufacturing Analysis Led Design - Use digital tools to model and simulate manufacturing processes, equipment, and performance, making data-driven decisions to drive continuous improvements.
- Manufacturing Knowledge - Demonstrate a deep understanding of manufacturing by correctly implementing changes in processes, equipment, and applications to meet functional needs and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Tool and Fixture Design - Select effective work-piece-holding devices to secure parts and products during manufacturing processes, meeting functional requirements.
- Problem Solving - Solve problems systematically using industry-standard methodologies, mentor others in effective problem-solving, and implement robust, data-based solutions to prevent recurrence and protect customers.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience
- College, university, or degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related field, or equivalent experience required.
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
- Intermediate level of relevant work experience required.
Additional Responsibilities:
- This is an onsite role in Fletcher, North Carolina.
- In depth process knowledge of CNC machining, spline rolling and heat treating.
- Design tooling, work holding fixtures and create in-process product drawings in a 3D solid modeling program.
- Create optimized layouts for current work cells and for new equipment purchases.
- Obtain quotes from contractors for departmental projects and manage contractors if implemented.
