DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Manufacturing Engineer for the 3rd shift to join our team specializing in Manufacturing; 100% oniste in Lakewood, NY.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Support Project Implementation : Assist in creating and implementing manufacturing processes to ensure safety, manufacturing goals, business goals, and product specifications are met.
- Apply Manufacturing Knowledge : Contribute by using your understanding of manufacturing principles and practices to improve equipment and processes.
- Develop Standards : Help develop manufacturing standards and working methods by utilizing continuous improvement tools.
- Collaborate on Projects : Work with internal and external resources on specific project assignments to ensure successful outcomes.
- Learn and Grow : Continuously learn and apply manufacturing principles and practices as they are used at Cummins.
- Enhance Safety : Assist in ensuring that all manufacturing processes meet safety requirements, contributing to a safe working environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Education, Licenses, Certifications:
- College, university, or degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related field, or equivalent experience required.
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
- Basic level of relevant work experience required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Additional Responsibilities:
- This is a 3rd shift role, 100% onsite in Lakewood, NY. Standard working hours are 10pm-6am.
- Provide technical and manufacturing and quality engineering direction on the off shift for machining lines
- Help identify and complete engineering projects to help improve safety, quality and efficiency
- Identify critical spares for machines and help set them up in the indirect store
- Takes lead in teaching and coaching team members on good safety, quality and manufacturing practices and report instances of non compliances, either to the team manager or business leader, if coaching is not yielding positive results.
- Be a means of professional, data and fact based communication between all shifts, ensuring critical safety, quality and production related information is communicated and understood across shifts.
Education and experience:
- 1 to 2 years of prior automotive manufacturing experience preferred but not mandatory
- preferred Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial engineering qualification. Minimum Bachelors degree. Masters degree also will be considered
- Controls engineering experience will be a big plus.
- good knowledge of GD&T and print reading. Ability to read CMM ( Coordinate measuring machine) reports and interpretation experience is a plus.
