Manufacturing Engineer

DESCRIPTION

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with specific projects to create and implement all aspects of manufacturing processes to ensure safety requirements, manufacturing goals, business goals, and product specifications are met.
• Apply knowledge of manufacturing principles and practices to improve manufacturing equipment and processes.
• Develop manufacturing standards and working methods using continuous improvement tools.
• Collaborate with internal and external resources on specific project assignments.
• Learn and apply manufacturing principles and practices as they are applied to Cummins.

• College, university, or degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related field, or equivalent experience required.
• This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

• Manufacturing Analysis Led Design: Uses digital tools to model and simulate manufacturing processes.
• Manufacturing Knowledge: Demonstrates knowledge of manufacturing by implementing changes in processes and equipment.
• Process Documentation: Produces written manufacturing procedures in proper sequence.
• Tool and Fixture Design: Selects work-piece-holding devices for manufacturing processes.
• Values Differences: Recognizes the value of different perspectives and cultures.
• Continuous Process Improvement: Implements process improvement and waste reduction methodologies.
• Ergonomics Process and Workplace Design: Designs processes and workstations with ergonomic controls.
• Problem Solving: Uses systematic analysis to solve problems and mentor others.
• Workstation Design: Designs safe, healthy, and ergonomic operator workstations.

• Basic level of relevant work experience required.
• Experience in handling capex spends and managing project timelines to avoid delays in project launches and ensure quality and delivery demands are met.
