DESCRIPTION
Contributes to the planning, designing, purchasing, and implementation of changes to the manufacturing equipment and systems while contributing to teams. This role is responsible for developing manufacturing processes for the Cylinder Head manufacturing line and ensuring alignment with safety requirements, manufacturing goals, business objectives, and product specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develops manufacturing processes for the Cylinder Head/ ConRod manufacturing line.
- Participates in equipment finalization, DAP, specification finalization, trials, and final commissioning at the plant.
- Improves layout and material flow for efficiency.
- Supports CAPEx and cash flow management in a timely manner.
- Monitors progress, highlights risks, and creates corrective actions.
- Conducts team meetings and communicates effectively with site operations, Manufacturing Engineering (ME), Quality, and supplier teams.
- Maintains project tracking and documentation to complete all New Business Startup (NBS) project steps.
- Maps supplier capacity and develops end-to-end Value Stream Mapping (VSM) for the new line.
- Supports the new line with Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), Cummins Manufacturing System (CMS), and Industry 4.0 requirements.
- Assists with the development and implementation of manufacturing standards and working methods using continuous improvement tools.
- Works with internal and external resources on specific project assignments.

- Tool and Fixture Design: Selects workpiece-holding devices for optimal positioning during the manufacturing process.
- Value Differences: Recognizes and values diverse perspectives and cultures within the organization.
- Continuous Process Improvement: Implements waste reduction methodologies to improve quality and reduce process costs.
- Ergonomics Process and Workplace Design: Designs and adapts workstations to meet ergonomic guidelines and enhance workplace safety.
- Problem Solving: Uses systematic analysis to identify root causes, implement data-driven solutions, and mentor others in effective problem-solving.
- Workstation Design: Designs operator workstations that prioritize safety, ergonomics, and efficiency while maintaining cost-effectiveness.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
- A college, university, or degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or a related field, or equivalent experience is required.
Experience:
- A basic level of relevant work experience is required.
