DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Maintenance Engineer to join our team specializing in Manufacturing onsite in Columbus, IN.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration : Working with Facilities, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering teams will help identify and resolve equipment issues, improving operational reliability and efficiency.
  • Inventory Management : Maintaining spare parts and indirect materials inventory using a computerized maintenance management system will ensure that necessary resources are always available, minimizing downtime.
  • Engineering Contributions : Your input in equipment engineering design evaluations will help optimize equipment performance and reliability, leading to better production outcomes.
  • Preventative Maintenance Leadership : Leading preventative maintenance processes will ensure that equipment is consistently available and capable, reducing unexpected breakdowns and extending equipment lifespan.
  • Maintenance Execution : Executing preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance will enhance equipment performance and reliability, ensuring smooth production operations.
  • Problem-Solving Expertise : Your troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve equipment issues will minimize disruptions and maintain high levels of productivity and quality.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role, you will need the following:

  • Collaborate Effectively : Build strong partnerships and work collaboratively with others to achieve shared goals. This will help you leverage diverse skills and perspectives to solve problems and drive success.
  • Champion Health and Safety : Model proactive health and safety behaviors by identifying risks, reporting issues, and participating in actions to improve workplace safety. This will help build a culture of safety and contribute to an injury-free workplace.
  • Recognize and Mitigate Hazards : Identify hazards related to electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic controls in the manufacturing environment. Incorporate safe practices and procedures into daily work plans to reduce injuries and create a safe machine environment.
  • Interpret Drawings : Integrate product design and manufacturing equipment engineering drawings to support the development of optimal manufacturing processes that meet product design specifications.
  • Procure Equipment : Select manufacturing equipment that meets Cummins specifications and project needs. This ensures that the equipment is suitable for the intended purpose and contributes to efficient production.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement : Identify areas for process improvement and implement methodologies to reduce costs and improve quality. This will help enhance current manufacturing processes and contribute to overall efficiency.
  • Apply Controls Engineering Knowledge : Specify, review, and approve designs for new or upgraded equipment to ensure they interface effectively with manufacturing systems. This will help maintain high standards of control and automation.
  • Understand Ergonomics : Apply ergonomic standards and guidelines to reduce ergonomic risks for employees. This will help create a safer and more comfortable work environment.
  • Demonstrate Manufacturing Knowledge : Implement changes in processes, equipment, and applications to meet functional needs and drive continuous improvement. This will help maintain high standards of manufacturing excellence.
  • Document Processes : Produce clear and accurate manufacturing procedures that are followed by all stakeholders. This ensures continuity and standardization in processes, contributing to consistent and reliable production outcomes.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

  • College, university, or equivalent degree required.
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

  • Intermediate level of relevant work experience required.

Additional Responsibilities/Information:

  • This is an ONSITE Position and will be expected to work onsite. This is not a HYBRID position.
  • This person will develop and manage a Team of Technicians that is responsible for maintaining industrial automation equipment.
  • You will be expected to take calls afterhours and be a lifeline support for the group.
  • You will be responsible for supporting asset management as well with new equipment builds.
  • You will work directly with vendors, contractors, and other team members to meet deadlines set by the plant.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Possess the skills to lead, organize, schedule and maintain a steady work environment.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and display leadership at a high level you will be expected to problem solve with your team and have quick precise decision -making skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure as well as have a great eye for a safe work environment.
  • Must have an understanding with working knowledge of the importance with a preventative maintenance program.
  • Knowledge and ability to read and navigate electrical prints, pneumatic prints, create drawings for small projects.
  • Must have 5-10years of Industrial Maintenance and Supervisory experience.

Please note that the salary range provided is a good faither estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate's qualifications and experience where appropriate.
