DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Site Quality Engineer - Senior - 3rd Shift CMEP Blockline to join our team specializing in quality for our corporate business in Columbus, IN.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

Addressing Customer Issues: You'll manage systems related to plant customer issues, ensuring timely and effective corrective actions.

Leading Containment Activities: By leading containment activities, you'll prevent the spread of quality issues, maintaining product integrity.

Ensuring Quality Standards: You'll ensure products and processes meet both initial and long-term quality standards, including IATF, APQP, and PPAP documentation.

Supporting Change Management: You'll verify products and processes during change management activities, ensuring key measures are met and providing data analysis for decision support.

Conducting Quality Audits: You'll support or lead quality audits, ensuring compliance with industry standards and continuous improvement.

Providing Technical Expertise: As a Quality technical resource, you'll offer guidance and support to other functional areas, enhancing overall quality practices.

Mentoring Team Members: You'll coach and mentor less experienced team members, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.

Driving Continuous Improvement: By prioritizing continuous improvement initiatives with cross-functional partners, you'll utilize methodologies like lean manufacturing and 7-step problem solving to enhance processes and products.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

Customer Focus : Build strong relationships with customers and deliver solutions that meet their needs, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Effective Communication : Develop and deliver clear, multi-mode communications tailored to different audiences, ensuring everyone understands the message.

Manufacturing Knowledge : Apply your understanding of manufacturing processes to implement changes that improve efficiency and quality, contributing to continuous improvement.

Quality Influence : Engage stakeholders, facilitate constructive discussions, and influence decisions to balance quality priorities and achieve the best outcomes for the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience

Demonstrated role competence is required. College, university, or equivalent degree in Engineering or a related technical or scientific subject or experience equivalent is required.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Intermediate level of experience required. Preferably 3-5 years' experience in Manufacturing, Engineering or Program Management role in the automotive industry or a similarly regulated industry.

Minimum of 2 years of related manufacturing or quality experience required.

Additional Details:

On-site presence essential for this third shift Quality Engineer role in the Blockline at CMEP

Interface with other functions to resolve quality issues and lead problem resolution project management teams

Lead process improvement projects focused on RPN reduction, RTY, and scrap

Managing NCM/Scrap working with a cross functional team

Completing capability studies for as needed to review processes

Knowledge/Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing/Reading Prints

Compensation
