Job Summary:

As a Machine Operator at Cummins, you will operate manual and automated machines and production equipment in a manufacturing environment. Your role ensures that quality and productivity standards are met while maintaining a strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental practices. This is a hands-on position suited for individuals who are detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and eager to learn and grow within a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

  • Immediately stop work and report major injury hazards.
  • Report any work-related injuries, illnesses, incidents, or hazards.
  • Comply with all HSE standards, policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Use and maintain appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Promote a safety-first culture by supporting peers and taking ownership of safety practices.
  • Participate in HSE training and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify how work impacts the environment and seek to reduce negative effects.

Quality Assurance

  • Adhere to standard work instructions and quality procedures.
  • Perform in-process and final quality inspections.
  • Identify and control non-conforming materials.
  • Raise issues that may impact product quality or increase costs.

Production & Delivery

  • Operate machinery and equipment in line with engineering specifications and customer requirements.
  • Achieve defined production goals and cycle times.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Perform routine housekeeping and machine cleaning tasks.
  • Conduct planned operator care and basic maintenance.
  • Assist with identifying equipment requiring repair or improvement.

Teamwork & Continuous Improvement

  • Communicate effectively with team members and support functions.
  • Participate in training, upskilling, and personal development programs.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Remain adaptable to perform miscellaneous duties as needed to support production goals.

Education, Licenses & Certifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS

Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of TIG and MIG welding .
  • Know-how of machine operation and production equipment.
  • Ability to read and follow standard operating procedures and quality guidelines.
  • Basic troubleshooting and maintenance skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to conduct visual inspections.
  • Physical ability to perform repetitive tasks, stand for extended periods, and lift materials.
