DESCRIPTION

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operations Leadership: Provide leadership and improvement focus for warehouse operations, including transportation and packaging operations. Drive results, create and monitor measures, provide motivation, and set expectations in safety, quality, production, and cost.
  • Communication: Communicate with customers, suppliers, shop floor, stakeholders, and staff.
  • Annual Planning: Lead annual operating plan, forecasts, and other measurements for Parts Distribution Center operations.
  • Capability Management: Manage and develop supply chain capability; work with employees to set goals in training and development, performance, and career planning.
  • Alignment with Initiatives: Set the aim for the organization and ensure individual work plans are consistent with supply chain initiatives.
  • Values Demonstration: Ensure Cummins values are demonstrated at the site, including championing diversity, community involvement, and right environment initiatives.
  • Daily Operations Management: Manage daily operations across functions to ensure a dependable and efficient supply chain.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead continuous improvement projects that align with Cummins Operating System and Functional Excellence direction and leverage common processes, tools, and information systems.
  • Corporate Support: Support Corporate Supply Chain initiatives and lead cross Business Unit planning processes to ensure intra-company alignment.
  • Process Creation: Create common supply chain processes and procedures by establishing collaborative business partner relationships.
  • Problem Solving: Approach daily problem-solving and continuous improvement opportunities strategically and tactically to achieve performance targets.
  • KPI Development: Develop, understand, and improve necessary Key Performance Indicators. Analyze operational trends and develop corrective action plans.
  • Issue Resolution: Address supply chain failures promptly to ensure operations stability; escalate as appropriate.
  • Resource Management: Prepare and manage an annual operating plan including expense resources and capital.
  • Staff Management: Manage, coach, and develop staff; work with employees to set goals in training and development, performance, and career planning.

  • Mode Selection: Evaluates and selects appropriate transportation mode and equipment type by lane through shipment volume analysis against business requirements to provide optimal shipping method (balance cost, quality, and time).
  • Trade Knowledge Application: Applies knowledge of relevant trade regulations to Cummins processes and systems to minimize trade risks and costs.
  • Warehouse Operations: Utilizes warehousing tools, systems, and methodologies to meet defined metrics for inbound and outbound operations of a warehouse.
  • Project Management: Establishes and maintains the balance of scope, schedule, and resources for a temporary effort (a "project"). Ensures results/impact from temporary effort are fully realized as possible.
  • Supply Chain Knowledge: Influences, with the ability to concisely explain and/or elaborate on, the multi-disciplined and end-to-end integration of the flow of information, products, and services to achieve the desired result for the end customer within the first-fit or aftermarket business segments while balancing the tensions of inventory, cost, and delivery.
  • Values Differences: Recognizing the value that different perspectives and cultures bring to an organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications:

  • College, university, or equivalent degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related subject required. MBA preferred.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Responsible for the entire Supply Chain Planning and Operations for PEP, including customer coordination and order management, warehouse management, dispatch, and material availability coordination.
