DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Industrial Maintenance Technician to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Cummins Inc. facility in Fletcher, NC.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Expert Troubleshooting and Maintenance : Your comprehensive knowledge in troubleshooting, assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical systems ensures smooth and efficient operations.

- Safety Leadership : Your thorough understanding of safety protocols and commitment to HSE standards helps create a safer work environment for everyone.
- Quality Assurance : Applying high standards of workmanship and craftsmanship, you support equipment failure analysis and ensure all quality procedures are up-to-date.
- Process Improvement : Identifying and reducing manufacturing constraints, scheduling maintenance activities around production requirements, and solving problems to improve processes are key contributions.
- Team Coordination : Acting as a formal resource, you lead and coordinate others, sharing your expertise and supporting team members with less experience.
- Environmental Stewardship : Recognizing the environmental impact of your work, you strive to minimize negative effects and engage in HSE training to promote sustainability.

RESPONSIBILITIES
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Health and Safety Fundamentals : Proactively champion and model health and safety behaviors. Identify, report, and participate in actions to improve health and safety, fostering an interdependent culture and contributing to an injury-free workplace.
- Controls Safety : Recognize hazards related to electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic controls in the manufacturing environment. Incorporate safe practices and procedures into your daily work plan to reduce injuries and create a safe machine environment.
- Electrical System Troubleshooting : Analyze electrical control systems to resolve and repair issues, ensuring systems return to proper operating conditions efficiently.
- Factory Automation and Control Systems : Implement changes to automate manufacturing processes using available technology and programming techniques. Identify the necessary materials and resources to complete projects and optimize automation in the manufacturing environment.
- Machine Programming : Design and implement machine programs for the factory floor to improve machine usage and overall operation, enhancing productivity and efficiency.
- Manufacturing Knowledge : Apply your knowledge of manufacturing to correctly implement changes in processes, equipment, and applications. This will meet the function's needs and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Communication and Teamwork : Communicate effectively with your team and support teams. Participate actively in training and personal development to align with business requirements and contribute to team success.
- Quality and Process Improvement : Maintain high standards of workmanship and craftsmanship. Support equipment failure analysis, provide feedback into the Preventive Maintenance system, and perform quality inspections to ensure all processes and procedures are followed.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Significant work experience and in-depth knowledge obtained through specialized training and relevant experience.
QUALIFICATIONS
Additional Information:
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, and lift for up to 10 hours
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Ability to work a flexible schedule and overtime as needed
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions, drawings, schematics, blueprints, and/or other diagrams
- Ability to troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment and perform necessary repairs in a safe and timely manner.
- Ability to identify opportunities for mechanical and electrical improvements on new and aging machines and equipment within the facility
- Ability to multi-task in a high noise and high activity environment
- Basic computer skills
- Fork truck, scissor lift, crane experience preferred
