DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Industrial Engineer - Senior to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for Cummins Inc. in Fletcher, NC.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Optimizing Production Efficiency : By leading work studies for new and current production lines, you'll identify and implement improvements to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Standardizing Work Methods : You'll establish and refine standard work methods, ensuring consistency and quality across all production lines.
- Driving Project Success : Leading specific projects, you'll create and implement comprehensive manufacturing processes that meet safety, manufacturing, business, and product specifications.
- Enhancing Equipment and Processes : Applying your knowledge of manufacturing principles, you'll improve manufacturing equipment and processes, driving innovation and efficiency.
- Upholding and Developing Standards : You'll maintain Cummins standards and develop new manufacturing standards, ensuring high-quality and consistent production.
- Influencing Key Stakeholders : By leading communications with external stakeholders, business leaders, and functional members, you'll build strong relationships and influence key decisions.
- Collaborating on Projects : Working with internal and external resources, you'll ensure successful project execution and alignment with organizational goals.
- Advancing Manufacturing Knowledge : You'll leverage your advanced knowledge of manufacturing principles to continuously improve processes and practices at Cummins.

RESPONSIBILITIES
To be successful in this role you will need the following:

- Line Balancing Expertise : Evaluate work activities to optimize operating time and distribute work content effectively, ensuring manufacturing processes meet changing customer demands.
- Manufacturing Knowledge : Demonstrate a deep understanding of manufacturing by implementing changes in processes, equipment, and applications to meet functional needs and drive continuous improvement.
- Process Layout Skills : Create and modify optimized manufacturing processes by incorporating knowledge of equipment, human interfaces, production sequences, and facility requirements to reduce process time and waste.
- Work Measurement Proficiency : Quantify and evaluate process elements by breaking them down into detailed steps, identifying and reducing waste, and redistributing work content to optimize process flows.
- Drawing Interpretation Ability : Integrate product design and manufacturing equipment engineering drawings to develop optimal manufacturing processes that meet product design specifications.
- Industrial Engineering Knowledge : Apply comprehensive and quantitative analysis of available data using industrial engineering techniques to develop or improve manufacturing processes for maximum efficiency.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
- College, university, or degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related field, or equivalent experience required.
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
- Intermediate level relevant work experience required.
Additional Responsibilities:
- This position will serve out of Fletcher, NC as the home location
- Mechanical Engineering education is preferred.
- 5 or more years in Manufacturing Engineering is preferred.
- Experience in technical areas such as Process planning, Line balancing, material presentation, Ergonomics, Assembly etc. is required.
