DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Human Resources Co-Op (School to Work) to join our team specializing in Human Resources for our Cummins Inc. facility in Florence, KY.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Supporting HR Functions : By providing general personnel information and managing HR processes, you'll ensure smooth and efficient HR operations while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Compliance Knowledge : Developing and maintaining familiarity with local, state, and federal requirements will help ensure the company adheres to all relevant regulations.
  • Employee Relations : Assisting in the coordination of positive employee relation events will foster a supportive and engaging workplace culture.
  • Policy Adherence : Ensuring thorough familiarity with business conduct policies and assisting in training others will promote a culture of compliance and ethical behavior.
  • Team Support : Supporting team members with benefit and HR procedure questions will enhance their understanding and satisfaction with HR services.
  • Report Management : Understanding and assisting in the maintenance and generation of HR standard reports will provide valuable insights for decision-making.
  • Administrative Projects : Assisting with special projects, such as updating newsletters and communications, will keep employees informed and engaged.
  • Record Keeping : Coordinating and maintaining employee records and facilitating new hire onboarding will ensure accurate and organized documentation, contributing to efficient HR operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Pursuing Relevant Education : Continue working toward your degree in human resources, organizational leadership, communications, or a similar field to build a strong foundation of knowledge and skills.
  • Effective Communication : Leverage your outstanding oral and written communication skills to clearly convey information, engage with employees, and handle HR-related inquiries effectively.
  • Organizational Skills : Utilize your strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently, ensuring timely administration of HR duties and maintaining accurate records.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite : Apply your working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook to create reports, manage data, prepare presentations, and communicate effectively.
  • Attention to Detail : Pay close attention to detail to ensure accuracy in documentation, compliance with policies, and thoroughness in all HR processes.
  • Adaptability : Be flexible and adaptable to handle various HR tasks and special projects, adjusting to changing priorities and needs.
  • Interpersonal Skills : Develop strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with employees, support team members, and foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Continuous Learning : Stay updated on HR best practices, industry trends, and regulatory changes to continuously improve your knowledge and effectiveness in the role.

Education/Experience:

Pursuing a degree in human resources, organizational leadership, communications, or a similar field.
