DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Financial Analyst to join our team specializing in financial planning and analysis for Cummins Drivetrain and Braking Systems (Meritor) in Troy, MI.

Job Summary:

Responsible for the preparation of analyses and reports for department managers. Supports the annual budget process, expense and/or staffing forecasts or statistical reporting.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Provide valuable insights by preparing detailed analyses and reports for department managers.
  • Enhance financial planning by collaborating with organizational units to develop annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Ensure accuracy in financial records by supporting the month-end close process.
  • Streamline data management by preparing and consolidating financial data.
  • Improve decision-making through comprehensive statistical reporting, including financial performance and variance explanations.
  • Optimize cost efficiency by conducting thorough cost analysis.
  • Drive strategic initiatives by executing special projects as assigned.
  • Support organizational goals by delivering precise and timely financial information and analysis.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

College, university, or equivalent degree in Finance, Accounting or related field required.

Experience:

Minimal relevant professional work experience in the field of study required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Coordinate and consolidate the global long-range financial planning process: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely financial projections.
  • Support the implementation of global EPM tools and provide ongoing training and administration: Serve as a key resource for end-user training, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) systems.
  • Contribute to finance process improvement initiatives: Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of financial processes.
  • Preferred experience with EPM tools: Familiarity with systems such as Hyperion Financial Management (HFM), OneStream, SAP, or similar tools is a plus.
  • Technical proficiency in database and analytics tools: Experience with database structures (e.g., SQL, Access), data analytics and automation platforms (e.g., Alteryx, Power BI), or scripting languages (e.g., Python, VBA) is highly desirable.
