DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Facilities Leader to join our team specializing in Facilities for our Cummins Inc. facility in Memphis, TN.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Drafting Layouts and Designs : By creating detailed layouts and designs from engineer specifications, you will support various projects aimed at improving electrical, structural, and mechanical systems.
- Collaborating with Engineers : Consulting with electrical, structural, and mechanical contract engineers to develop drafting designs and layouts will ensure that all project requirements are met accurately.
- Developing Project Requirements : Identifying the needs of the facility and space allocations to develop project requirements will help ensure that all improvements are well-planned and executed.
- Ensuring Code Compliance : Making sure that projects and facilities meet state and local building codes will ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
- Updating Building Drawings : Using AutoCAD or similar drawing programs to update building drawings will keep all documentation current and accurate.
- Problem Solving and Analysis : Performing creative technical and analytical work, along with budget management and hands-on applications, will help address challenges and optimize project outcomes.
- Managing Work Independently : Managing your own work and maintaining a flexible schedule to meet priority demands will ensure that projects are completed efficiently and on time.
- Seeking Support When Needed : Knowing when to seek support will help you overcome obstacles and ensure the successful completion of projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Master Facility Electrical Technical Skills : Troubleshoot, repair, and install electrical distribution systems, buss bars, breaker boxes, motors, and other electrical equipment. This will enable the facility to operate properly with reliable electrical systems.
- Develop HVAC Technical Skills : Troubleshoot, repair, and install heating equipment, boilers, ventilation systems, chillers, cooling towers, air compressors, and other mechanical equipment. This will ensure that the facility provides the necessary heating or cooling for people and production processes
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
Must meet the minimum educational requirements to start the apprenticeship or regional program.
Must pass all related testing.
Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.
Knowledge of drafting program AutoCAD or equivalent program for updating and creating layouts and designs.
QUALIFICATIONS
Additional Information:
- Oversees daily operations of third-party security and maintenance teams, ensuring efficient execution of tasks and adherence to corporate standards.
- Manages budgets for operational expenses and capital expenditures, including capital expense requests and utility cost management strategies.
- Supervises contractors for facility renovation projects involving mechanical, structural, HVAC, electrical, and production floor arrangements, ensuring compliance with corporate standards and service agreements.
- Coordinates facility improvements and modifications while maintaining strong relationships with vendors and service providers. Communicates changes effectively to facility occupants to maintain optimal working conditions.
- Identifies and drives continuous improvement initiatives to enhance facility operations.
- Oversees facility technology and leads emergency preparedness efforts.
