DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Facilities Associate - Level II to join our Facilities Team, specializing in mail room operations and administrative support, for our Cummins Inc. facility in Fridley, MN.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Supporting Mail Room Operations - By sorting, shipping, tracking and distribution of all mail and providing additional services like binding, printing and laminating.
  • Shop Packets - Build and deliver accurate shop packets to ensure smooth, efficient and uninterrupted operations of production lines.
  • Enhancing Facility Operations : By coordinating changes and improvements when needed, you'll ensure the facility operates smoothly and efficiently.
  • Strengthening Supplier Relationships : Your assistance with suppliers and vendors will help secure better services and cost reductions.
  • Effective Project Management : Your role in managing projects, from design to implementation, will ensure timely and successful completion of facility-related projects.
  • Improving Communication : Keeping facility occupants informed about changes and improvements will foster a transparent and cooperative environment.
  • Optimizing Space Utilization : Managing floor and office space through CAD layouts and master plans will maximize the use of available space.
  • Budget Management : Developing, documenting, and reporting budgets will ensure financial resources are used effectively and efficiently.
  • Coordinating Installations : Overseeing the installation of communications equipment will ensure seamless integration and functionality.
  • Driving Continuous Improvement : Participating in improvement processes and audits will contribute to ongoing enhancements in facility operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure Emergency Preparedness : Plan, manage, and support the site's emergency preparedness program. Identify risks, develop risk management plans, and maintain emergency systems for fire and flood protection. Being prepared for emergencies will safeguard the facility and its occupants.
  • Maintain Facilities : Regularly assess the condition of the facility, including its systems, structure, interiors, exteriors, and grounds. Manage facility operations and maintenance activities and develop asset management systems for preventive maintenance using criticality analysis and predictive tools.
  • Optimize Facilities Operation : Manage occupant services such as parking, janitorial services, food services, concierge, facility helpdesk, security, and safety. Oversee the maintenance contracting process and develop operational planning requirements for temperature control, lighting, equipment replacement, and water treatment.
  • Communicate Changes and Improvements : Keep facility occupants informed about changes and improvements. Clear communication will foster a cooperative environment and ensure everyone is aware of ongoing projects and updates.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement : Participate in improvement processes and audits. Actively contribute to identifying areas for enhancement and implementing solutions to improve facility operations and efficiency.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

Requires some work experience or intermediate level knowledge obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Information:

Must be able to lift 30-35lbs.

Position will be supporting the activities below:

  • Mail Distribution - Receive, sort and distribute / co-ordinate mail pick across the campus daily (Fridley sites and Shoreview)
  • Package Distribution - Receive, sort and distribute packages daily. Maintain Excel log of key package information. Assist employees with package shipping and pickup queries.
  • Shop packets - Print, pack, quality check and deliver shop packets consisting of AR file, traveler, nameplate, emissions label, and unit schedule to multiple production lines daily.
  • Printer maintenance - Clean, change, and order supplies, troubleshoot, repair (both self perform and call support) the special printers used for printing the shop packets, manuals and other customer requested documents.
  • Misc. Printing - Print SDS labels, manuals, PIV/Electrical badges, etc.
  • Misc. laminating, shredding & binding activities.
  • Order supplies for facilities projects and needs.
  • Mail room organization.

Compensation:

Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate's qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
