DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Employee Relations & Compliance Specialist Manager - Pune & Field Sites to join our team in Pune, Maharashtra, India. Sites supported by this leader are all Pune locations (India Office Campus, Kothrud Engine Plant & Pirangut plant, India Technical Organization) and all field locations (non-plant sites). This position will have 5-6 direct reports based at each of the locations. The work arrangement for this position is onsite.

This position will lead a team of specialists responsible for Employee Relations, Labor Law compliance, lifecycle management of non-exempt employees and trainees (hiring, performance management, learning & development, growth opportunities to separation), and temporary or contractual workforce management. This team will also be responsible for adherence to policies, disciplinary actions and domestic enquiries. The role will be responsible for development and consistent execution of HR policies, processes and solutions to meet the evolving needs of business-related non-exempt manpower, delivering enhanced employee experience and driving efficiency and accuracy in HR solutions for end-user.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Ensure the delivery of seamless end-to-end solutions for managing lifecycle for non-exempts and flexi/ temporary workforce.
  • Manage the administration and implementation of the organization's labor relations programs, policies and procedures
  • Manage the investigation of unfair labor practices and other labor relations issues.
  • Mediate workplace conflicts, grievance process and prepares disciplinary actions, grievances and arbitration.
  • Maintain an understanding of local and national employment legislation matters; understands where to find information sources on this topic and how to apply the information; coaches management on the latest employment legislation matters.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the employee relations and compliances specialist team to enhance their ability to offer high-quality and responsive support regarding complex labor issues.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including employees, managers, and internal HR teams, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Execute processes efficiently and proactively, ensuring delivery in accordance with established standards and monitoring legislative compliance.
  • Manage, coach and assign work according to availability, skills, and developmental needs; assesses performance and provides feedback to direct reports.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Employee Relations : Build constructive relationships with employees and other stakeholders. Reinforce consistent application of company standards, apply knowledge of employment and labor law, manage conflict effectively, and maintain a collaborative, productive work environment through information sharing and consultation.
  • Compensation and Benefits Administration : Administer policies following the company's plan design to ensure accurate and consistent application. Comply with local legislative and tax requirements to meet governance and legislative standards.
  • Conducting An Investigation - Utilizes interpersonal skills, sound judgment and investigation tools/process to resolve reported violations of Cummins standards in a way that promotes our values and ethical principles; conducts effective interviews and analyzes information; clearly articulates findings and makes recommendations verbally and in writing.
  • Labor Relations - Practices employee relations at sites where employees are represented by third parties; applies knowledge of labor law; negotiates, interprets and implements the language of collectively bargained agreements.
  • Human Resources Consulting : Collaborate with partners to observe the environment and apply sound judgment informed by knowledge, skills, and experiences. Identify and optimize opportunities to provide holistic solutions, balancing the needs of stakeholders, primarily employees, with those of the organization.
  • Human Resources Business Process Execution : Manage the execution of HR business processes, seeking efficiency, accuracy, positive business performance outcomes, and operational agility. Integrate activities across processes as needed, ensure compliance with process and legal requirements, and balance process requirements with business leader needs
  • Data Analytics : Discover, interpret, and communicate qualitative and quantitative data. Use business or functional frameworks to draw conclusions, apply statistics, data validity, data visualization, and problem-solving approaches to extract meaningful patterns and business insights. Present conclusions that enable data-driven business decisions.
  • Effective Communication : Develop and deliver multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.
  • Managing Complexity : Make sense of complex, high-quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems.
  • Instills trust - Gaining the confidence and trust of others through honesty, integrity, and authenticity.
  • Manages ambiguity - Operating effectively, even when things are not certain or the way forward is not clear.
  • Manages conflict - Handling conflict situations effectively, with a minimum of noise

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience

  • College, university, or equivalent degree in Human Resources or related field highly preferred. Additional diploma/ certifications or education in field of Labor Relations, IR, Labor Laws, MSW will be an added advantage.
  • Significant relevant work experience of 15+years required in managing and executing variety of people processes for non-exempts workforce, flexi and contractual manpower.
  • Should possess subject matter expertise in labor laws, related compliances and disciplinary actions
  • Experience of managing large scale non-exempts and flexi workforce is a must.
  • Should be able to prioritize effectively and support team handling multiple plants.
