Engine Workshop Technician

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for an experienced In-shop diesel technician to join our team in Winnipeg.

Experience with engine diagnostics, engine rebuild, and emissions system is essential. A level of chassis diagnostics and repairs is also needed for this position.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Applies documented procedures and policies to complete complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools
  • Disassemble, inspect, clean and reassemble engines and /or engine components
  • Performs preventative maintenance based on assessment of engines
  • Assists more experienced technicians with diagnostics and development of repair plans engines in the workshop
  • Completes required documentation, such as work completed documents, time sheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens
  • Completes training in line with skill and business requirements
  • Maintains work area and tools for cleanliness and proper operation
  • Adheres to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to their supervisors.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

  • Red seal certification (Heavy duty equipment or truck and transport)
  • Locally valid driving permit

T This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

  • Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products

About the role:

  • Working hours are 7am to 5h30pm Monday-Friday.
  • When in this role- you will work on a variety of equipment: fire trucks-coaches-buses-school buses-On highway vehicles and more.
  • Safety inspection license is an asset
  • Electrical interest is also an asset.
  • 5000$ sign on bonus is eligible for this position
