DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Product Performance and Controls Integration Engineer to join our team specializing in Electronic Systems for our Corporate Business at one of our Cummins Inc. locations, or if applicable, your remote home office, within the United States.
In this early career product focused role, you will tailor electronic and electrical systems for Cummins products. You will translate product requirements into hardware and software technical requirements that control the operation of Cummins' products in a variety of customer applications.
As a Product Performance & Controls Integration Engineer you will:
- Be involved in the integration of components or sub-systems to deliver for the product with responsibility to configure (tune), and complete comprehensive validation testing of the fully integrated hardware and software systems.
- Investigate electronic application, system and product issues, understands causal mechanisms, recommend appropriate action, own problem resolution and document results with mentoring by more experienced team members.
- Apply and support the improvement of electronic application and systems development processes and tools - these may include system requirements, modeling and simulation, calibration, test creation and troubleshooting.
- Obtain input from customers, technical and product teams, manufacturing teams, supplier partners, and other stakeholders to deliver information and recommendations that lead to quality product decisions.
- Be part of the decision-making process in the areas of electronic and electrical system design, requirements, calibration development and tests that impact the quality and performance of the product.
- Be part of the problem resolution for components, products, systems, subsystems, or services.
- Utilize technical problem solving, risk assessment and decision-making tools to ensure product change management activities are aligned with customer requirements.

- Translating stakeholder needs into verifiable requirements to which designs are developed.
- Influencing product design decisions using computational tools and methods to predict the capability of a products function relative to its system, sub system and or component level requirements.

- Actively engaging in product problem solving and product failure mode avoidance activities to improve the reliability of the product.

RESPONSIBILITIES
To be successful in this role you will need:
- A College, University or equivalent Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or appropriate STEM field.
- A postgraduate (Master's or PhD) degree may be required for select Product Performance & Controls Integration Engineer roles.
- Good communication skills along with strengths in logic, planning and decision making.
- Experience using Microsoft Office tools or equivalents, especially Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

2024 Salary Ranges by Degree Level:
- Bachelor's - $76,500 - $93,500
- Master's - $89,800 - $109,800
- PhD - $100,300 - $122,500
Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate's qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
Cummins Full Time Requirements:
- College, University, or equivalent technical experience required
- Minimum 2.5 or above GPA preferred
- Must be able to complete 40 hours per week
- 2 years in a position/internship relating to your field of study preferred
