DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician to join our Distribution business in Albany, GA. will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
  • Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
  • Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
  • Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
  • Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
  • Maintain own tools

RESPONSIBILITIES

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Primarily engaged in maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics
  • Requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality
  • Demonstrates an understanding on access to engine repair process information sources.
  • Understands after-treatment system and can identify major components and their function at a rudimentary level.
  • Has worked on external components on a diesel engine and understands the basic concepts.
  • Has some knowledge of engine diagnostic software

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience. QUALIFICATIONS

Core Responsibilities:

Diagnostics & Repairs: Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on Cummins diesel engines and related components.

Preventative Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and system tests to ensure optimal engine performance and longevity.

Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all repairs meet OEM standards, safety regulations, and are properly documented in service reports.

Required Skills, Education, or Experience:

Technical Certification or Experience: Diesel technician certification (e.g., ASE, Cummins-certified training) or equivalent hands-on experience.

Mechanical & Electrical Knowledge: Strong understanding of diesel engine systems, fuel systems, electrical components, and emission controls.

Diagnostic Proficiency: Ability to use diagnostic tools, software, and schematics to identify and resolve mechanical issues.

Safety & Compliance Awareness: Knowledge of workplace safety protocols and EPA emissions regulations.

Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Qualifications:

OEM or Cummins-Specific Training: Previous experience with Cummins engines or factory-certified training.

CDL or Equipment Handling Experience: A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or experience operating heavy equipment for testing and repairs.

This position does not require any DOT requirements.
