DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician to join our team specializing in engine repairs for our Distribution Business (White Bear Lake, MN).
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Complete troubleshooting, repairs and rebuilds on engine products and other customer equipment in a service shop.
- Perform preventative maintenance based on assessment of engines, including utilizing computers/software in the process of diagnostic work.
- Apply documented procedures and policies to complete complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools.
- Completing required documentation, such as work completed documents, time sheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
- Ongoing training and additional certifications on new and existing Cummins products.

RESPONSIBILITIES
To be successful in this role the following is preferred:
- (Intermediate) Technician Level II: Some relevant technician experience; qualified to perform work on an intermediate number of products in-scope for a diesel technician at this location; primarily engaged in moderately complex maintenance and repair; some exposure to moderate or complex diagnostics, requires limited direct supervision, may provide basic training or guidance to new technicians.
QUALIFICATIONS
This role is for an in-shop diesel technician reporting to the white bear lake branch, 1st shift.
Cummins is looking for an experienced level 2 technician that is a strong and smart individual with good communication skills.
2 years at a vocational school or 5 years hands on experience required.
technician will be asked to troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild and fix repairs on all Cummins engines
Insite, QSOL, Guidianz and computer skills is preferred but not required.
- A current valid license is required for this role
- This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
- This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
- 3 years driving experience
- This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use
- Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age
- This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing.
