Job Summary:
Completes troubleshooting, repairs and rebuilds on engine products in a service workshop independently while coaching and developing less experienced technicians
We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in (Boise, ID). will make an impact in the following ways:

- Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
- Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
- Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:
RESPONSIBILITIES
(Advanced):
- Ability to troubleshoot with limited/no support from diagnostic tools
- Larger more complicated engine rebuilds
- Mentor junior technicians including technical support and documentation
QUALIFICATIONS
- Diagnose and repair various engines.
- Engine rebuilding and reconditioning.
- Do complete bumper to bumper inspections and complete relevant repairs.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and report any issues / incidents to the Supervisor.
DOT
- A current valid CDL is required for this role.
- This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free of major violations
- This role is subject to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) drug and alcohol testing requirements and on going random drug and alcohol testing
- This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
- This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use
- Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age"
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)
Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
Locally valid driving permit (Preferred)
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
Advanced level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
Experience providing technical advice and coaching to more junior technicians (preferred)
