DESCRIPTION

Develops all aspects of control systems, equipment, and machinery to ensure seamless integration, functionality, and safety. Responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automation systems, troubleshooting control-related issues, and mentoring junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and design control systems, ensuring proper integration of sensors and actuators.
  • Implement and perform bench tests, alter software and equipment configurations, and troubleshoot control-related issues.
  • Prepare cost estimates, compile required cost and equipment information, and write/review appropriation requests.
  • Investigate project requirements, develop solutions considering economic, personnel, and environmental aspects.
  • Install and provide technical support for Programmable Logic Controller (PLC)-based hardware and software.
  • Coach and mentor less experienced Controls Engineers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Experience: Intermediate level of relevant work experience required.

  • Technical Skills:
  • 3-4 years of experience handling Siemens 1500F series PLCs and programming within TIA Portal.
  • 2-3 years of exposure to LOTO, Machine Safety & Machine Guarding.
  • Strong automation background with experience in factory automation and control systems.
  • 3-4 years of experience integrating Camera/Robotic/3rd party devices.
  • 2-4 years of experience in Machine Networking and working with various machine protocols.

  • Controls Safety: Recognizes and mitigates electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic hazards to ensure a safe machine environment.
  • Controls System Security: Ensures the security of manufacturing control systems through proper design approvals.
  • Electrical System Troubleshooting: Diagnoses and repairs electrical control system issues to maintain smooth operations.
  • Factory Automation and Control Systems: Implements automation solutions using programming techniques and appropriate resources.
  • Sensor Technology and Measurement: Selects and applies sensor technology to differentiate products meeting quality standards.
  • Machine Programming: Develops factory floor machine programs to improve machine utilization and efficiency.
  • Manufacturing Knowledge: Applies manufacturing knowledge to implement process and equipment improvements effectively.

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related field, or equivalent experience.
