We are looking for a talented Commercial Leader to join our Power Generation team in Melbourne . This role will be following a Hybrid work model.

- Lead team to deliver high quality and professional bids and proposals in consultation with the sales teams that position Cummins for success
- Lead and foster a team culture that delivers optimum individual and collective team performance in relation to commercial operations
- Lead and manage the internal and external clarification processes leading up to and following the submission of bids
- Develop the commercial operations strategy by identifying and prioritising improvement initiatives, establishing execution efficiency by analyzing processes and procedures to deliver a high degree of work and process standardization
- Preparation and management of all facets of bid management from tender through to contract award
- Responsible for the sales administration team delivering on all key metrics to ensure process effectiveness and accuracy driving business profitability.
- Deliver process improvements that ensure efficient inventory and working capital management
- Lead and consult on contract management and review processes to ensure all risks are identified, managed and mitigated
- Collaborate, contribute, and ensure project and commercial risk profile aligns with company expectations in relation to contracts, proposals and quotations, new business opportunities and project management.
- Deliver strong functional excellence across all commercial elements of the business
- Proactively lead and engage all internal and external stakeholders including suppliers through all facets of technical, commercial and pricing submissions
- Work collaboratively to a high standard across multiple internal departments and a highly diverse workforce
- Lead and manage appropriate internal risk mitigations, commercial reviews and bid governance processes
- A proven track record managing commercial operations, ideally in a power projects or construction industry environment
- Possess strong interpersonal skills that can translate into highly effective teamwork and relationships
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
- Be agile and show initiative in a high pressure environment with tight deadlines and multiple time zones
- Demonstrated strength in analytics to identify data based areas for improvement within the business
- Build an effective team that can apply their diverse skills and perspectives to achieve common goals.
- Ability to articulate effective commercial strategy by aligning and building consensus with key stakeholders across functions to achieve strong process outcomes.
- Communication skills delivered through multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.
- Seeing ahead to future possibilities through your strategic thinking skills and translating them into breakthrough process and business improvements.
- Tertiary qualifications in a business, commercial, legal or engineering discipline or demonstrated strong relevant industry experience
- Significant level of relevant work experience required. Experience delivering or contract managing large power projects for major contractors highly preferred.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite of tools
- Experience using SalesForce CRM and SAP ERP systems preferred
