DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Technical Architect Principal to join our team specializing in Systems/Information Technology for Cummins, Inc. in Columbus, IN.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Research and Evaluation : Conduct research, evaluate, and select application, technology, and infrastructure standards.
  • Technology Analysis : Lead the analysis of the technology environment to identify critical deficiencies and recommend improvement solutions.
  • Roadmap Creation : Develop project and technology roadmaps, define migration plans, and collaborate with IT stakeholders to align IT strategy with future state architecture.
  • Standards Development : Create standards for specific functions or technology domains, and define reusable design patterns and configurations. Provide infrastructure capacity recommendations for new applications and systems.
  • Governance Leadership : Lead and facilitate the creation of governing principles to manage change and guide solution decisions for the enterprise.
  • Coherence and Metrics : Ensure coherence and completeness across all Cummins Technology Reference Model (CTRM) disciplines, and define metrics to measure standards adoption, reuse, and value demonstration.
  • Cost/Benefit Analysis : Perform complex cost/benefit analysis when researching future state capabilities, and coach and mentor less senior architects.
  • Strategic Assistance : Assist Cummins IT / Common Services / Architecture Leadership on strategic initiatives and architecture projects as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Collaborates - Building strong partnerships and working collaboratively with others is crucial. This means actively engaging with team members, stakeholders, and other departments to ensure everyone is aligned and working towards shared objectives. Effective communication and a willingness to listen and incorporate feedback will be essential.
  • Architecture System Design - Defining and developing various architecture deliverables. This involves creating conceptual models, logical models, and physical network designs. Applying architecture principles through a structured framework and methodology will help you transform systems in a controlled manner to meet business needs.
  • Solution Functional Fit Analysis - This involves breaking down a system into its component parts to analyze how well they interact and meet various requirements. You'll need to use specific tools and procedures to ensure that the components are designed, purchased, and configured correctly.
  • System Solution Architecture - Creating solution designs and patterns that align with Cummins standards is a key part of this role. Use the Cummins Technical Reference Model (CTRM) and CLEAN standards to ensure consistency and alignment. Familiarity with existing reference patterns and the ability to adapt them to new solutions will be important.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience

  • College, university, or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related subject, or relevant equivalent experience required.
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
  • Significant relevant experience required. 6-10 years of experience.

Additional Responsibilities:

We are looking for a self-motivated, energetic system architect with significant experience leading complex digital projects involving cross-functional teams.

Additional Responsibilities unique to this role:
  1. You will own end to end architecture and system level design for integrating Accelera components within OEM's digital ecosystem for over the air SW updates and engineering data extraction
  2. You will lead design and development of digital products for supporting compliance initiatives (Ex, battery passport, serial parts tracking)

To be successful in this role, you will need the following:
  1. Experience in building solutions from concept to production
  2. Significant experience with embedded controls development/validation and digital / connected technologies & products
  3. Experience in integrating digital solutions with OEMs/ supplier for IOT and/or compliance driven products
  4. Hands on experience of working with automotive controllers, telematics devices and IoT cloud
  5. Experience of developing cyber secure products and familiarity with UNECE 155/156, ISO 21434
  6. Strong System engineering background
  7. Comfortable in managing deliverables requiring support from cross functional teams
  8. Comfortable in driving clarity from ambiguity

This position can be done from outside Columbus Indiana. You will need to travel to Columbus every other month.

Compensation

Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate's qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
