DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Chemical Systems Technical Specialist to join our team specializing in Electrolysers for our Hydrogenic Corporation in Mississauga, Ont.

  • Develop proficiency in critical competency areas, contributing to your team's overall success.
  • Operate as a recognized specialist within your discipline, offering expert insights and solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Accelerated Aging Testing and Analysis : Design and construct lab equipment to simulate aging exposures for active chemical components.
  • Characterization of Chemical Systems : Conduct tests on physicochemical properties to diagnose and predict performance and health of chemical components.
  • Chemical or Electrochemical Performance Testing : Design tests to measure chemical transformations and interpret data to influence design decisions.
  • Product Function Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis : Utilize computational tools to predict product capabilities and impact design decisions.
  • Product Problem Solving : Solve product issues using data-based solutions and identify root causes to prevent recurrence.
  • Product Verification and Validation Management : Develop validation plans, manage product risk, and evaluate test results to verify product capabilities.
  • Builds Networks : Effectively build and maintain relationships inside and outside the organization.
  • Communicates Effectively : Deliver clear and tailored communications to meet the needs of different audiences. Education, Licenses, Certifications: College, university, or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Engineering or appropriate STEM field is required. Post-graduate (Master's) degree relevant to this discipline area may be required for select roles. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. Experience: Prior Senior or Lead Engineer equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline area is required with a demonstrated track record of technical problem solving and quality decision making. Knowledge of MS Office tools is preferred

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior experience as a Senior or Lead Engineer in a relevant discipline, with a proven track record of technical problem-solving and quality decision-making.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools is preferred.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in product design, prototyping, validation, or industrial research and development.
  • Strong skills in material characterization techniques (SEM, TEM, XRD, XRF, porometry, etc.).
  • Extensive experience with electrochemical diagnostic methods (EIS, CV, LSV, etc.).
  • Understanding and experience in mass transport in electrochemical devices and/or multiphase flow in porous media.
  • Over 3 years of R&D experience in PEM fuel cells or water electrolysis, with industry experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with key stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and senior management.
  • Capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage accelerated development schedules, and meet deadlines.
  • Proactive and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
