DESCRIPTION

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Enhancing Calibration Processes : By applying technical principles of metrology, you'll ensure accurate and reliable calibration systems and processes, which are crucial for maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Ensuring Equipment Traceability : Coordinating the scheduling of internal and external calibrations will protect Measurement and Test Equipment (M&TE) and ensure traceability, which is vital for compliance and quality assurance.
  • Improving Response to Out-of-Tolerance Findings : By following up on customer responses to out-of-tolerance equipment, you'll help maintain the integrity and reliability of the equipment used.
  • Leading Gauge Capability Studies : Conducting gauge capability studies for new gauging will ensure that only the most reliable and accurate tools are released for use, enhancing overall measurement accuracy.
  • Developing and Documenting Procedures : Creating and documenting calibration procedures using best practices and consensus standards will standardize processes and improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Optimizing Calibration Cycles : Applying statistically optimized calibration cycles will minimize data quality risks and maximize the availability of M&TE, ensuring that equipment is always ready for use.
  • Training and Mentoring : Providing training on M&TE calibration and maintenance processes will empower other lab personnel and customers, fostering a knowledgeable and skilled team.
  • Maintaining Quality Systems : By maintaining the laboratory quality system and applying knowledge of applicable quality standards, you'll ensure that the lab operates at the highest standards of quality and compliance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Electrical Metrology : Utilize electrical measurement science to create and apply measurement processes that deliver precise results, aiding in design validation and meeting regulatory standards.
  • Measurement Science : Analyze measurement processes to identify and quantify sources of uncertainty. This helps in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of measurements across various scientific domains.
  • Mechanical and Physical Metrology : Apply mechanical and physical measurement sciences to develop processes that deliver accurate measurement results, supporting design validation and compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Valuing Differences : Recognize and appreciate the value of diverse perspectives and cultures. This fosters an inclusive environment and enhances problem-solving and innovation.
  • Laboratory Management : Lead technical resources and manage the business aspects of the laboratory. Ensure compliance with certifications and accreditations and maintain high standards in both technical and business operations.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

A regionally applicable Certification (e.g. US Department of Labor) or two year Associates Degree from an accredited college program in a relevant field of study.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

Prefer significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Information:

Core Responsibilities:

Manages the daily activities of the calibration lab including timely completion and planning of all site and external calibration.

Oversees the site MSA activities including GRR studies for measurements performed.

Skill, Education, Experience Requirements:

Knowledgeable on general measurement techniques and can train other team members how to perform measurements properly.

Has experience with a portable Romer Arm or equivalent for CMM measurements.

Skill, Education, Experience Preferences:

Experience with CMM programming and measurement techniques using the CMM equipment.

Experience utilizing Lean Manufacturing Methods.
