DESCRIPTION
We are looking for an enthusiastic Maintenance Technician Apprentice to join our team specializing in Maintenance within our Darlington Engine business. During your apprenticeship program with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential!
Summary of the course:
The Maintenance Technician Apprentice role is a developmental position within the Maintenance department. During the apprenticeship you will work 5 days per week. The working hours will be 37.5hrs per week. The first year of the apprenticeship will be focused on Practical Foundation Competency Training at Southwest Durham Training Ltd. On completion of this apprenticeship, you will obtain BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Technical Knowledge) Level 3 Mechatronics Maintenance Technician.

This is role is 100% onsite at Darlington Plant from Monday - Friday
RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Learn how to Troubleshoot, assemble, install, test, maintain, and make improvements to mechanical and electrical systems.
- Thoroughly understand and adhere to the protocols of working safely.
- Ensure equipment uptime is kept to a maximum to support production throughput and quality.
- Work with the latest technology including, Robots, Cobots, PLC's, Vision Systems and Automated Delivery Systems.
- Work in a diverse team towards making Darlington the best Powertrain Campus globally.
QUALIFICATIONS
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- 5 GCSE's grade 4/C and above in Maths, English, Science and two other subjects
- Have a willingness to learn new skills and have a can-do attitude.
- A commitment to achieve in both work and learning.
- Must be-able to commute to both the Darlington site and SWTD training.
