Cummins Technician Apprenticeship - Heavy Automotive Engineering, Road Transport

  • Upon entry to the program, possess or commence a Certificate in Automotive Engineering (Level 3)
  • Undertake a Certificate in Heavy Automotive Engineering (Level 4) Road Transport to become a fully qualified Cummins Technician
  • Gain practical experience and earn while you learn with a global leader in engine technology.

Working under the supervision of a qualified Cummins Technician, you will learn everything that comes with the diagnosis and repair of Cummins engines and products.

  • Obtain a Level 4 trade qualification in Heavy Automotive Engineering, Road Transport.
  • Complete off-the-job training with our partner training organization.
  • Receive structured on-the-job training, under the supervision of the qualified technicians and supervisors in your workshop.
  • Gain your experience working on a range of our world class Cummins engine products.
  • Improve your technical expertise by completing a range of engine product training with Cummins Technical Trainers as you progress through your apprenticeship.
About you

Cummins are looking for applicants with the following attributes:
  • A positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
A passion for working on our products and in the industry.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
  • Excellent level of language, literacy, and numeracy skills
A willingness to work across regional areas and rotate through different departments to gain experience on automotive, industrial, marine, and mining engine products as you progress through your apprenticeship.
  • Right to work in New Zealand
Preference to have completed year 12 or equivalent.
  • A strong focus on safety and wellbeing that will lead to a successful career at Cummins.
