We are looking for a talented EBU Electronic Systems Product Specialist to join our team specializing in engineering for our corporate office in Columbus, IN.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

Mechatronics Expertise: Develop a strong understanding of electronic hardware and interconnections. This knowledge will enable you to effectively specify and apply these systems in Cummins' products, ensuring they meet performance and control requirements.

Integration Skills: Master the art of combining various subsystems into cohesive units. Familiarize yourself with Cummins' installation requirements and best practices to optimize performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.

Modeling and Simulation Proficiency: Utilize computational tools to model and simulate product functions. This will help you predict how designs will perform against requirements, influencing critical design decisions.

Problem-Solving Methodology: Adopt a structured approach to identify and resolve product issues. Focus on data-driven solutions that not only address immediate problems but also prevent future occurrences by identifying root causes.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

College, university, or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Engineering or appropriate STEM field is required.

Post-graduate (Master's) degree relevant to this discipline area may be required for select roles.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Prior Senior or Lead Engineer equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline area is required with a demonstrated track record of technical problem solving and quality decision making. Knowledge of MS Office tools is preferred

Additional Details and Responsibilities:

This position will lead the controls development for OEM vertical integration with X10 EPA 27 engine program. The controls system will utilize CM3550 with CSAR software design to deliver solution for OEM E/E architecture, support OEM Powertrain feature suite, ISO 26262 functional safety, ISO 21434 cybersecurity compliance.

Liaison with Customer engineering team stakeholders to determine OEM controls requirements and delivery schedules

Support VPI stakeholder meetings, SPI, FIRG, Service, etc.

Liaison with ECM HW, software and calibration suppliers to coordinate system requirements, deliveries to above needs

Authority to set controls system supplier delivery priority and configuration management for the OEM vertical integration project

Lead calibration development utilizing CSAR development tools

Compensation

Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate's qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
