DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Abradables Operator - Skilled Technician II to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Cummins Inc. facility in North Charleston, SC.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Supporting Manufacturing Needs : Perform skilled activities that directly support the manufacturing process, ensuring smooth operations and high productivity.
- Ensuring Safety : Adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards, report hazards, and use personal protective equipment to maintain a safe working environment.
- Maintaining High Quality : Apply high standards of workmanship, perform quality inspections, and support equipment uptime and downtime failure analysis to ensure product quality.
- Effective Tool Use : Select and use appropriate tools, machinery, and specialty equipment efficiently, completing tasks with limited guidance.
- Preventive Maintenance : Perform and document preventive, emergency, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities to keep equipment in optimal condition.
- Continuous Improvement : Work with peers and support staff to identify and reduce manufacturing constraints, solve problems, and improve processes.
- Team Collaboration : Communicate effectively with your team and support teams, participate in training and development, and engage in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities.
- Environmental Responsibility : Recognize the environmental impact of your work and strive to minimize negative effects, promoting sustainability in your activities.

- Problem-Solving Skills : Develop strong problem-solving skills to effectively address and resolve issues that arise in the manufacturing process.

Education/Experience
High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Requires some work experience or intermediate level knowledge obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.
QUALIFICATIONS
Additional Information:
In this position, the operator should be able to work independently and troubleshoot while carrying out the following tasks:
- Load/Unload the automatic infeed conveyors
- Load both the noise baffles and load the roll pins
- Gage parts per control plan
- Leak check for Hydrogen/Argon - Requires above-normal abilities
- Powder Fill Responsibilities - Requires LOTO
- Basic Robot, CNC, and Flame Spray recovery - Requires LOTO
Compensation
Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate's qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
