DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented 2nd Shift Machine Operator to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Cummins Inc. facility in Fletcher, NC.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Improving Processes : Identifying and reducing manufacturing constraints, as well as solving problems, will streamline production processes and enhance productivity.
  • Coaching and Mentoring : Instructing and coaching less experienced team members will foster a collaborative and knowledgeable team environment.
  • Maintaining Cleanliness : Keeping your work area clean and orderly will contribute to a more efficient and safe workplace.
  • Engaging in Continuous Improvement : Actively participating in TPM teams and completing training will help drive continuous improvement in quality, safety, and processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Tool and Fixture Design Skills : Select appropriate work-piece-holding devices to effectively secure parts and products during manufacturing. Ensure these devices meet functional requirements.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork : Communicate effectively with your team and support teams. Participate actively in team initiatives to improve quality, safety, and processes.
  • Continuous Learning : Engage in ongoing training and personal development to stay updated with industry standards and best practices. This will help you adapt to new challenges and improve your skills

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Information:

This position is responsible for the safe setup, operation, inspection, and operator maintenance of various Lap Line work-centers in the gearing department.

Position is responsible to produce components that meet and/or exceed design engineering specifications, while meeting standard productivity cost and delivery targets.

Position will be able to perform changeovers, setups, recognize machining issues and make machine/process adjustments as needed.
