We have a new role for a Senior Manager Tax to join our growing EMEA Tax Team. Reporting to the Senior Director, Head of Tax EMEA with responsibility for the oversight and management of the tax affairs for 20+ European territories.

Responsibilities

  • Work with CSL Accounting Operations and external advisors to oversee and facilitate completion of direct tax compliance and associated notifications (Pillar 2; DAC 6, CbCr etc.);
  • Maintain oversight over indirect tax compliance, ensuring good governance and adherence to CSL policy.

  • Anticipate, oversee and manage tax authority audits - liaising with external advisors, Accounting Operations, Finance Business Partners and the local business as required. Defend CSL tax positions as needed.
  • Work in and with the business, acting as a primary point of contact in providing tax advice on business changes or transactions. Ensure tax requirements are understood and complied with across in each territory.
  • Ensure tax accounting requirements (current & deferred tax) for each territory are complied with/outcomes reviewed for financial close, forecast and budget preparation, preparation of tax accounting for statutory close periods, including tax payments for cash planning and meeting all finance timetables.
  • Input to Accounting Operations team with respect to local statutory account tax calculations & disclosures
  • Work with external providers & the business in respect of the company's claims to tax incentives
  • Facilitate the Global Transfer Pricing team's review of transactional changes, including facilitation of the local business' review of transfer pricing documentation. Support the provision of information to the central transfer pricing team for the purposes of transfer price setting and true up, and review of outcomes to ensure appropriate transfer pricing applied in territory
  • Perform research on tax issues, tax law updates and tax planning initiatives. Work to develop favorable tax positions and model economic consequences of proposed tax planning ideas
  • Provide strategic insights into the tax landscape for the region and thought leadership on the tax strategy. Ensure that global tax strategy is implemented in the region.
  • Participate in special projects related to global tax compliance and planning as needed.
  • Drive process improvements across all tax processes, ensuring efficiency, risk awareness and consistency.

  • Requirements

    • A Strong educational background and a tertiary degree or diploma, ACA, ATT or equivalent
    • 7+ years' experience in relevant field/industry
    • Experience of SAP and Onesource tax reporting helpful but not essential
    • Strong organisation and process management skills
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and is a natural collaborator who can engage with stakeholders at all levels
    • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong numerical and analytical skills together with an ability to understand and succinctly explain large and complex concepts

    • Microsoft Office skills including a strong capability in Excel and PowerPoint
    • Time Management & Priority setting

    Location: UK Maidenhead or Liverpool, Switzerland Bern or Zurich

    Hybrid: 50% Office based
