The Opportunity

Join CSL Behring's Global Policy, Advocacy and Public Affairs (PAGA) department in a crucial role as Senior Manager for Germany. Reporting to the Senior Director Policy, Advocacy and Government Affairs for Germany, Austria and Switzerland, you will be the primary liaison with policy and public affairs stakeholders in Germany and Hesse. Your role will focus on monitoring, advancing, and analyzing policy developments to shape government policies and regulations in support of CSL Behring's priorities, especially in the ATMP and PDMP space.

You will lead the execution of public affairs and stakeholder engagement strategies to enhance CSL Behring's profile and impact, leveraging the company's footprint in Berlin with federal stakeholders and politicians and in Marburg with Hesse policy makers and other influential stakeholders. Your responsibilities include ensuring CSL Behring's interests are represented in policy formulation, market rules, and procedures through engagement in trade associations and stakeholder platforms relevant to our portfolio and pipeline.

The Role

  • Support the strategic plan to drive public affairs priorities that facilitate CSL Behring's business success and patient access to therapies in Germany.
  • Coordinate engagement of CSL business units (CSL Plasma, CSL Behring, CSL Vifor, and CSL Seqirus) with government officials, industry associations, and stakeholders in Germany, identifying opportunities for company-wide engagement and supporting EU advocacy with German stakeholders.
  • Assist the PAGA Senior Director in developing internal policy analysis and updates for senior company leaders and the PAGA team.
  • Define policy advocacy priorities and positions, collaborating with the International PAGA team, German PAGA Head, and other functional teams within the German affiliate (e.g., Therapeutic Areas, Commercial & R&D, Market Access, Communications, Regulatory).
  • Represent CSL Behring in relevant working groups of industry associations and in stakeholder meetings with key policymakers.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of an external engagement plan to build strong relationships and effective communications with key public affairs stakeholders in Germany.
  • Serve as a primary interface and relationship manager with patient advocacy groups, collaborating closely with Medical Affairs and Communications teams on engagement and corporate communication strategies in Germany.

Your Skills and Experience:
  • Graduate/professional degree in law, public health, political sciences, or similar disciplines preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in healthcare policy/public affairs or related fields.
  • Proven experience in building company profile and impact with healthcare public affairs stakeholders at national and local levels.
  • Track record in collaborating across organizational levels to achieve shared goals.
  • Strong understanding of government/public authorities and healthcare industry associations.
  • Experience partnering with patient groups to advance mutual goals.
  • Established network of relationships with government officials, industry, patient advocacy, and other influential stakeholders in policy formulation.
  • Experience in biologics, plasma, or vaccine product industries is a plus.
