The Opportunity

The Senior Manager, Finance Business Partner - Medical Affairs & ABC is a strategic role responsible for providing financial planning, analysis, and decision support to the Medical Affairs organization and selected teams within ABC. You will focus on financial oversight of medical strategies, evidence generation, and operational efficiency while contributing to broader commercial goals.

We ask that you understand financial processes, partner collaboration, and insights that influence the success of the Medical Affairs and ABC functions.

The Role

Medical Affairs Financial Management

• Partner with Medical Affairs leadership to develop budgets and forecasts for important projects such as investigator-initiated research (IIR), advisory boards, and lifecycle management activities.

• Provide financial analysis for medical programs, including publications, medical training, and external collaborations.

• Evaluate the financial impact of evidence-generation activities and lifecycle plans, ensuring understanding of organizational goals.

• Deliver clear variance analysis to provide relevant insights to Medical Affairs teams.

Financial Planning & Analysis

• Lead financial planning and financial forecasting cycles for Medical Affairs and ABC teams, ensuring accuracy and understanding of strategic goals.

• Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts, providing variance analysis with relevant recommendations.

• Develop financial models to evaluate investments, cost-saving opportunities, and resource allocation.

Support for Market Access & Pricing (ABC)

• Partner with the Market Access and Pricing teams to support financial modeling and pricing strategies for new product launches and established therapies.

• Evaluate and advise on global pricing strategies, reimbursement approaches, and value-based frameworks to maximize revenue potential.

• Evaluate the financial impact of pipeline and lifecycle strategies in partnership with R&D and the therapeutic area leadership teams.

• Collaborate on long-term pricing and allocation strategies to maximize product value across regions and geographies.

Commercial Development Collaboration (ABC)

• Support financial assessments for business case development across therapeutic areas, including Ig, Immunology, Hematology, and Cardio/Renal.

• Partner with R&D and Commercial Development teams to evaluate lifecycle investments and therapeutic area strategies.

• Provide financial support for decision-making on pipeline investments and portfolio management.

Analytics & Insights (ABC)

• Collaborate with Analytics & Insights teams to develop dashboards and financial models that track the performance of medical and commercial programs.

• Provide applicable insights based on data analysis to inform decision-making on resource allocation and project prioritization.

• Contribute to the preparation of long-range financial plans, incorporating medical and commercial goals.

Projects, Processes & Technology and Operational Excellence

• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, policies, and reporting requirements.

• Promote process improvements within Medical Affairs and ABC, focusing on budget management and reporting accuracy.

• Support training for Medical Affairs and ABC teams on financial processes and financial tools.

• Help establish centers of excellence (COEs) to improve operations, enhance efficiency, and guide scalability across markets.

• Ensure adherence to global financial processes and compliance standards, driving efficiency through automation and digital transformation programs.

Your Skills and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in finance, Business Analytics, or a related field.

• MBA or advanced degree in a related discipline is a plus.

• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in financial planning, business partnering, or strategy roles preferably within biotech, pharmaceuticals, or life sciences.

• Experience supporting medical affairs, market access, or commercial functions is desirable.

• Experience supporting global teams is desirable.

• Financial modeling, forecasting, and analytical skills is needed.

• Experience communicating analytical findings for a range of different audiences to engage with cross-functional teams.

• Proficiency in financial systems and tools, including data visualization platforms.
