Medical Science Liaison (m/f/x) Nephrology - Czech Republic / Slovakia

(Full-time / Permanent / Location: field based)

The Opportunity

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) Nephrology and rare diseases is a field-based expert on CSL nephrology portfolio with a deep understanding of rare diseases therapeutic areas, assets, and trials, responsible for engagement with medical stakeholders at centers across the region but also with patient groups, policy makers and national government payors.

The MSL provides fair, balanced, objective, scientific information, and education to health care professionals (HCPs) on a peer-to-peer basis and to internal partners, as required by scientific and business needs. You will represent and reflect CSL values as a science-driven, patient-centric organization.

The MSL is critical in understanding the management of diseases of interest, collecting medical insights, mapping the patient journey, identifying unmet medical needs, data gaps and areas of collaboration.

You will work closely with the regional team, the Medical Affairs team and cross-functionally with all relevant Central Eastern Europe (CEE) colleagues.

The Role
  • Maintain the highest scientific and medical expertise of all relevant diseases and assets; be acknowledged internally and externally as an expert.
  • Identify and develop productive relationships and collaborations with all relevant stakeholders, including HCPs, professional organizations in the country.
  • Support the development and implementation of local Medical Affairs plans.
  • Support market access activities and any healthcare policy efforts across the country.
  • Help to shape the position of CSL Vifor in the country.
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge of and appropriately implement current local pharmaceutical regulation and ensure implementation of CSL policies and procedures.
  • Scientific/medical exchange with relevant stakeholders, and insight generation to inform future strategies and tactics.
  • Deliver high quality scientific/medical education in a variety of settings, including related to diseases of interest, clinical studies, assets.
  • Coordinate the timely and appropriate response to internal and external Medical Information enquires.
  • Cross-functional collaboration.
  • Support cross-functional teams to ensure operations are patient-focused, including rapidly responding to internal and external requests to discuss specific situations and challenges and provide scientific support to all stakeholders.

Primary Job Function
  • Be an efficient bridge between CSL Vifor and the medical and scientific community.
  • Provide critical support by sharing in-depth medical expertise and clinical insights with key stakeholders, including healthcare providers, researchers, and key opinion leaders (KOLs) in the field of nephrology and rare diseases.
  • Fostering strong relationships with experts, delivering scientific presentations, and facilitating the exchange of data and real-world insights to advance understanding of CSL Vifor nephrology and rare diseases assets.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that HCPs and relevant stakeholders are well-informed about the latest clinical data, therapeutic developments, appropriate, effective use of CSL Vifor assets to improve patient care.

Your Skills and Experience
  • Advanced degree in a medical or life science field (MD, PharmD, PhD, or equivalent) is required.
  • Specialization or experience in nephrology, rare diseases, or related therapeutic areas.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years in a Medical Science Liaison or similar field-based medical affairs role, preferably in nephrology or rare diseases.
  • Deep understanding of clinical research, scientific literature, and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in English, Czech (spoken and written)
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with proven ability to build and maintain relationships with KOLs and other external stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Reporting Relationships

This position reports to the Medical Head Nephrology CEE.
