The Opportunity:

As a member of both the Medical Affairs and ABC Leadership teams, you will assume a strategic role in the management of these Global Commercial functions by helping the functions develop, execute, and achieve their financial and operational goals by providing decision support and financial counsel while integrating and using the COE services of the newly expanded FP&A, Analytics, and Reporting teams.

You will help guide and support the financial success of CSL Behring's activities in these newly designed and expanded global support functions. This role requires a unique combination of financial expertise, industry knowledge, strategic thinking, leadership skills, and a track to collaborate with commercial partners and drive performance in a highly regulated and dynamic industry.

The Role:

Strategic Leadership & Business Partnering:
  • Lead the finance strategy and business partnering activities in collaboration with the SVPs to successfully achieve our goals.
  • Provide financial guidance, advice, and decision support to Global Commercial Functions and leaders, including recurring business reviews.
  • Collaborate with leadership to provide financial insights and help develop business strategies.
  • Serve as a trusted financial advisor to the respective Global Functions teams, understanding their goals, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Analyze and evaluate alternate financial plans to support our goals and provide sound financial decision-making

Financial Planning & Analysis:
  • Lead the development of annual budgets, financial forecasts, and long-term financial models in close collaboration with CSLB FP&A CoE.
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks, providing actionable recommendations to enhance financial performance.

Financial Performance Management:
  • Lead the development and implementation of key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and measure financial performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and refine non-financial performance targets, continuously monitoring and evaluating performance.
  • Work with respective Global Functions teams to identify and address gaps or risks to achieving financial goals, offering proactive counsel to optimize outcomes.
  • Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making by providing promoting insights and recommendations in collaboration with the CSLB Analytics CoE.

Strategic Decision Support:
  • Provide financial guidance and analysis to support in strategic decision-making for the Global Functions in collaboration with CSLB CoE matrix teams.
  • Work closely with other departments (CEA, Tax, etc.) to understand the financial implications of changes in public policy (e.g., healthcare reform) on the business.
  • Participate in business development activities.
  • Advise on alternate financial plans and the potential impact of our laws and regulations.

Financial Controls and Risk Management:
  • Maintain financial controls and risk management practices to safeguard the integrity of financial data-based on the Global Financial Control Framework and Risk Management.
  • Find and address financial risks associated with International ComOps.

Projects, Processes & Technology and Operational Excellence:
  • Work with the respective Global Functions teams and CSLB Finance to ensure business process excellence to identify our needs in information analysis, business systems, and decision-making support.
  • Participate in regional, global functional, and cross-functional process and technology projects that increase productivity and deliver operational excellence.

Leadership and Team Development:
  • As a member of the various LTs that this role supports and the CSLB FLT, drive enhancements to the Finance Strategy and have shared ownership for Global Finance team development initiatives.
  • Provide guidance, and supervision of staff, including performance management and talent/career development.
  • Manage and influence without formal authority in a matrixed environment.
  • Cultivate talent and take proactive steps to secure future talent, ensuring a pipeline for the 'One CSL' teams.

Your Skills and Experience:
  • BS, Accounting, Finance or related discipline
  • MBA preferred; CPA/CMA desirable.
  • 10+ years' experience in Accounting or Finance, leading and managing teams and/or large projects in a Global or Regional Pharma / biotech environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and influence executive leadership and to foster a culture of agile decision-making in a matrixed environment.
  • Diverse experience across Operations, Commercial, R&D, Affiliate, and/or Corporate Finance desirable.
