Role Overview:

The Executive Director of Health Economics Outcomes Research (HEOR) at CSL Behring and CSL Vifor is a pivotal role responsible for leading the generation and dissemination of payer evidence across the pipeline and inline portfolio. This senior position demands deep expertise in Health Economics, Real-World Evidence (RWE), and Health Technology Assessment (HTA) across global markets. The Executive Director will play a key role in influencing both R&D strategies and market access outcomes to maximize the economic value of CSL Behring and CSL Vifor's assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the HEOR team across all Therapeutic Areas (TAs) within CSL Behring and CSL Vifor, serve both above-market and in-market needs. Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing HEOR team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, inclusion, and accountability.
  • Serve as an integral member of the global Market Access Leadership Team (MALT), contributing to the development and execution of functional strategy, operations, and capability building.
  • Accountable for HEOR deliverables at each R&D stage gate, during peri-launch phase and throughout the product life cycle.
  • Develop and implement cutting-edge HEOR practices to establish a leading HEOR practice within the industry. Spearhead innovative approaches in payer evidence generation, including the integration of digital health data, patient-reported outcomes, and advanced analytics to strengthen the economic value propositions of CSL Behring and CSL Vifor products.
  • Define HTA (Health Technology Assessment) and payer evidence requirements. Co-conduct Early Direct Scientific Advice with US payers and key HTA agencies in the international markets, with Market Access pipeline team and other partner functions.
  • Provide strategic HEOR input into clinical trial designs to enhance asset economic value and patient outcomes.
  • Provide expert support to countries in developing health economic models, preparing HTA submissions, and responding to regulatory authorities.
  • Lead HEOR research on disease burden and costs for both pipeline and inline assets, driving the development of product economic value and patient outcome claims, including Indirect Treatment Comparison (ITC) and RWE.
  • Develop and refine cost-effectiveness models, budget impact models, and other HEOR tools. Conduct early cost-effectiveness assessments for R&D and business development assets.
  • Guide the HEOR team in preparing and disseminating impactful publications.
  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with Health Technology Assessment (HTA) bodies, Real-World Evidence (RWE) consortia, and academic institutions to stay ahead of emerging trends and continuously improve HEOR practices to meet evolving requirements.

Qualifications:
  • At least 15 years of experience in Health Economics Outcomes Research
  • Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams in a global, cross-functional environment. A role model of collaboration, innovation, inclusion, and accountability.
  • Proven track record in Health Economics Outcome Research, Health Technology Assessment, Real World Evidence and R&D interfaces.
  • In-depth knowledge of global healthcare systems and payer landscapes, particularly in the US and key international markets.
  • Proven ability to deliver superior performance across multiple therapeutic areas.
  • PhD in Health Economics.
