The Opportunity

You will be responsible for all phases of Plasma Operations and ensuring the business plans and company objectives, with a primary focus on activities to support meeting the FY collection goals and ensuring an enhanced customer experience to support donor retention. Directs Regional Directors, other management activities to ensure production goals, regulatory requirements, customer requirements are met while costs are controlled. Always ensure donor and employee welfare and safety. Ensure processes, tools, competencies, and operations attract an adequate supply of qualified, healthy donors. You will report to the VP Plasma Global Operations. *Overnight travel up to 75%.

  • Develop production and resource plans that meet production goals in terms of safety, quality, output and cost. Identify and evaluate fundamental issues for division through assessment of intangible variables and works on abstract problems across functional areas of the business.
  • Set and implement the overall center performance objectives for division. This includes employee development and succession planning, safety, quality standards, financial and production performance.
  • Develop best practices for managing production plan and monitoring Centers progress to ensure that strategies are employed, and goals are met. Implement best practices to ensure FY collection goals are achieved, monitoring collection status weekly, and prepared to adapt changes when needed. Heavy emphasis on donor/customer service and feedback. Collaborating with marketing and other functions to strongly support donor retention, and identify new donors. Develop, implements, and compel continuous process improvements throughout Plasma Operations.
  • Develops effective leadership programs through plasma operations through hiring, training and effective succession planning. Develops staff to ensure all goals are met.
  • Initiate, design and develop operational programs to meet CSL strategic objectives and consults, negotiate and collaborate with other corporate departments to ensure objectives are achieved. Collaborate with the Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs and Senior Medical Director to interpret regulations and guidelines, set strategic direction that proactively and productively addresses new requirements or changes. Set policy and develop programs that evaluate compliance and assure optimum quality and donor, employee and environmental safety. Consults with facilities group on center site selection, lease negotiation and construction. Perform as corporate liaison on legal issues involving center operations.
  • Direct quality plasma operations and partner with senior leaders to ensure adherence with quality systems standards to identify, review and establish plans to eliminate risk associated with quality and safety non-compliance. Establish and implement an SOP system to support compliance and auditing to support quality systems that comply with federal, state, local and industry guidelines.
  • Oversee the implementation of activities related to material purchases, material and inventory control, and material storage and transportation functions to meet Plasma Operations requirements.
  • Support and coordinate marketing programs to maximize production levels, donor retention and outstanding customer service levels. In-depth knowledge of the industry and competition to identify areas where CSL is leading or lagging to be able to partner with support functions to address.
  • Meet division budgets and all labor an expense goals identified in the FY
  • Participate in corporate development of methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for projects, programs, and people. Balances corporate demands with field responsibilities.
  • Interact internally and externally with executive-level management requiring negotiation of extremely difficult matters to influence policy-making bodies both internally and externally. Manage successful negotiations with external auditors or other regulator representatives.

Your skills and experience

Education
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business/Business Management or related subject.
  • Master's degree in Business Management or related subject preferred; or equivalent training and experience.
Experience
  • 10+ years' experience in progressively more responsible management positions, in a highly regulated, multi-location environment.
  • Prior experience must include direct and indirect supervision of technical specialist performing under enforceable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).
  • Plasma Regional Director experience is highly beneficial.
