CSL Plasma operates one of the world's largest and most sophisticated plasma collection networks, with more than 300 plasma collection centers in U.S., Europe and China. Plasma collected at CSL Plasma facilities are used by CSL Behring for the purpose of manufacturing and delivering its life-saving therapies to people in more than 100 countries.

CSL Vifor is a strong and rapidly growing presence in nephrology and is committed to launching the next generation of therapies to address the full spectrum of kidney disease, with a focus on dialysis and rare disease. This is supported by their founding heritage and expertise in iron deficiency therapy, helping to support a broad range of patients in need.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Head, EU PAGA serves as the company's senior representative with public affairs stakeholders in Brussels. The role is responsible for developing and executing public affairs and stakeholder engagement strategies to achieve the company's policy objectives with European institutions.

The role will primarily focus on the CSL Behring Business Unit, and will also provide support as needed to the CSL Seqirus and CSL Vifor Business Units.

The person in this role will be responsible for the following:
  • Develop and lead execution of plans to drive public affairs priorities at the EU level that enable the success of CSL Behring's business and patient access to our therapies.
  • Lead and coordinate company engagement with government officials, industry associations, advocacy groups, and other stakeholders, in close cooperation with regional and country team members.
  • Working closely with International PAGA team colleagues, leads the communication of business-relevant policy updates to senior company leaders; and the development of advocacy materials targeted at EU-level policy makers
  • Ensure appropriate coordination of public affairs and stakeholder engagement activities at the European level across CSL's three business units.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Graduate/professional degree in law, public health, or similar disciplines preferred.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in healthcare policy/public affairs or comparable fields
  • Experience designing and leading efforts to build company profile and impact with important healthcare public affairs stakeholders in Brussels
  • Experience collaborating with colleagues at multiple levels of the organization across geographies to align on and execute shared goals
  • Experience preparing public affairs strategies to maximize success of pipeline assets, including risk identification and mitigation planning
  • Strong understanding of the workings of major healthcare industry associations in Brussels
  • Experience partnering with patient groups to advance shared goals
  • Strong network of relationships with government officials, industry, patient advocacy, and other stakeholders that are influential in Brussels
