Summary

The Clinical Trial Supply (CTS) Vendor Manager independently builds productive and collaborative relationships with assigned vendors. You will identify, select, and negotiate with vendors, builds relationships and ways of working, executes governance processes, manages risks and resolves issues. The CTS Vendor Manager also drives process improvement projects with assigned vendors.

The Role

Responsibilities:

1. Build business relationships with assigned CTS vendors following the CTS outsourcing strategy.

2. Manage contracts and oversee CTS vendors. Promote the development of important deliverables such as CDAs, Master Service Agreements, contracts, Quality Agreements, pricing matrices and Statements of Work with CTS vendors.

3. Implements the CTS operating model for partnering with assigned vendors, including processes, standard operating procedures, work instructions, roles and responsibilities, and electronic data exchange/system interfaces. Ensure that a Quality Agreement is established and maintained.

4. Ensure CTS standards are implemented at assigned vendors (e.g. budgeting, invoicing processing, packaging and labeling standards, distribution and return standards, and deviation management).

5. Ensure agreement with assigned vendors for Key Performance Indicators and manages periodic reporting. Assess vendor performance and jointly prioritize and implement process improvement actions with vendors.

6. Author and maintain formal business relationship plans for assigned vendors. Lead periodic operational reviews for assigned vendors within the defined CTS vendor governance model.

7. Serve as first escalation point within CTS for assigned vendor issues or service complaints. Facilitate expeditious resolution, corrective action and preventive action. Ensure that vendor issues and service complaints are tracked, and communicated until a solution is resolved.

Your Skills and Experience
  • University degree (BSc, MSc, PhD) in life sciences, engineering, logistics or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years' experience in clinical supply management, clinical research, product development and global R&D project management in the biopharmaceutical industry including 2 years' experience working with related global vendors
