Associate Director New Product Planning

The Opportunity:

The Associate Director, New Product Planning is involved in early commercialization activities within the Commercial Development team (includes Global Franchise and Market Access & Business Insights teams).

Your primary responsibility focuses on CSL Seqirus' commitment to continued growth in flu, including support of new influenza vaccine development activities and planning for global launches.

You will lead early commercialization planning, geographic launch planning, and go-to-market strategy for pipeline assets including market shaping, brand strategy, and launch planning activities. You will develop strategic plans to differentiate the existing and new technology platforms used in vaccine development

The Role:

Strategic New Product Planning: Mid-to-late stage assets:
  • Lead the creation, evolution, and facilitation of new products delivery teams for influenza vaccine products in later stage development (Phase 2 and 3)
  • Lead collaboration with internal and external partners including medical affairs, health economics, clinical and regulatory and outside agencies to translate relevant clinical and economic trends into commercial strategies
  • Deliver life cycle planning, assessment of potential portfolio positioning, and prioritization of launch markets.
  • Identify and initiate appropriate market assessments to close knowledge gaps and inform strategic direction
  • Provide main pipeline assumptions/inputs to annual strategic planning processes, long range planning (LRP), brand strategy development, early commercialization / go-to-market planning, and integrated franchise planning
  • Develop communications to support the technological advances being used in new vaccines
  • Manage budget to support commercial development activities

Strategic New Product Planning: Early phase assets:
  • Partner with colleagues in R&D, regulatory, clinical, medical affairs, business development, and commercial to build business cases to support new product investment decisions
  • Interpret and guide market research and analytical support for our goals
  • Partner across departments to recommend, develop, and implement market assessment plans that address target product profile development and commercial strategy (positioning, pricing, etc.)
  • Organize information to help analyze future products and make recommendations to develop new products
  • Execute commercial assessments, product forecasting, new product / brand planning, strategic planning, data modeling, scenario analysis and other planning efforts
  • Present detailed insights in a manner that is easily interpreted and aids strategic decision making

Strategic Growth Opportunity Evaluation:
  • Work with senior leadership and in collaboration with R&D and BD, supports design and facilitation of new products and innovation workshops to assess external areas of opportunities for growth (adjacencies, new therapy areas, etc.)
  • Support development of market landscape evaluations, market sizing and growth, competitor assessments, revenue and commercial cost structure forecasts, and other content to inform cross-functional and senior leadership innovation/growth workshops and due diligence activities for external asset evaluation

Your skills and experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree required in Life Science, Business/Marketing, or related field. MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
  • At least 8 years healthcare experience with 5+ years commercial marketing experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or devices field.
  • Top tier healthcare consulting experience a plus
  • Vaccines and/or COVID experience a plus
  • Experience with pharmaceutical marketing, compliance, and global regulatory requirements
  • Experience in launching products, particularly across regions or through global capacity
  • Vendor/agency management skills
  • Advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint required
