The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Sr. Manager, E2E Financial Analysis, as the Analyst, Financial Analysis, you will form a part of the Financial Analysis team within the CSL Behring Financial Planning & Analysis organization. You will provide financial analysis support to the Behring business unit by evaluating business cases, applying advanced analytics to evaluate the financial impacts and implications of potential changes to capital projects and portfolios, product mix, yield, supply plans, major operational, supply chain or network changes, and other decisions within the CSL Behring business unit. You will complete advanced analysis and modelling that is not offered as a "standard" output from the Financial Planning & Analysis Reporting team. In addition to Financial Analysis, you will contribute insights, narrative, and advice on the analysis to support understanding and decision-making related to the financial and operational aspects of the situation or opportunity. You will provide financial analysis support across the full breadth of the CSL Behring business unit, spanning commercial, manufacturing, supply chain, network strategy, and plasma collection. The Role:
- Works with CSLB Finance Business Partners and the business to understand problems and suggests potential tools and analytical techniques for a given business problem. Performs scenario modelling and analysis for Sites and Functions. Models may include predictive, prescriptive, and options analysis to value alternatives and sensitivities.
- Prepares function and site-specific business cases for CAPEX and OPEX projects, network and supply changes, and site-specific initiatives, ensuring business cases have been prepared in accordance with CSL Investment Guidelines and that all key business and financial aspects of an opportunity are considered.
- Creates new statistical and analytical methods for highlighting critical variables on specific issues, opportunities, or situations in response to requests from CSLB Finance Business Partners. This may include generating multiple options to solve a problem and/or synthesizing large quantities of data to recognize patterns and call out insights.
- Works closely with the CSLB Finance Leadership team members and the CSLB Finance Business Partners to understand situations and problems, and ensure all financial analyses are effectively interpreted and explained to the Finance Business Partners. This includes acting as a subject matter expert to explain the analysis conducted, patterns identified, and what it means. This role will support the Finance Business Partners in determining practical recommendations based on analysis.
- Supports CSLB Finance analytics projects that help the business drive efficiencies and evaluate complex decisions, and champion the use of advanced analytics.
- Supports analysis of Capex projects and portfolios to provide evaluations of current project performance, benefits delivered by the portfolio, and the implications of forecasts and project delivery on budgets and broader business performance.
- Provides financial analysis support to global projects such as those generated from CSLB Finance and Finance Innovation. Champion process improvements that drive operating efficiencies within Finance and the business.
Your Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics or Data Analytics, or other quantitative degree such as Economics, Science, Mathematics, or Engineering.
- Pursuing an MBA or other advanced degree in related field a plus.
- Data Science or Data Management certification an advantage.
- 0 to 2 years' experience in finance or business analytics-related function, including financial analysis of production, product mix, supply chains and networks using a range of analytical and modelling methods.
- Proven background in math, statistics, and modelling.
- Understanding of advanced analytics and statistical software such as RStudio or Python a plus.
- Experience in data mining of structured and unstructured data.
- Experience using data transformation and workflow tools such as Alteryx a plus.
- Experience with visualization software such as PowerBI or Tableau.
- Experience in global scientific/ pharmaceutical industry highly desirable.
