The purpose of this position is to ensure that every part or machine that is shipped to a customer meets the high-quality standards set by CarnaudMetalbox Machinery.  In addition, will ensure all parts provided to the assembly department meet the specifications and can be utilized without alterations.  The primary duties are to inspect incoming parts from the machine shop and outside suppliers, to complete inspection reports with full information, and to perform quality checks on machinery throughout the build process.

 

Schedule: 7 am to 3:30 pm

Salary: Competitive pay starting $18 - $24 depending on experience

We require someone who is scrupulous and organized, good at communicating both verbally and in writing with other departments and external suppliers, a good team player, and not afraid to ask for assistance.  Other requirements for this position are:

  • engineering or machinist background with the ability to read drawings and schematics
  • ability to use measurement equipment such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and more
  • experience in a machine shop or custom machine manufacturer
  • general understanding of mechanical and electrical systems
  • experience in a quality department (inspection) role within an engineering environment

Skills that are required:

  • Microsoft Office computer literacy (Word and Excel)
  • ability to work with new systems (book parts once they are inspected)
  • detail-oriented
  • effective communicator

Education:  High School Education preferred
